Chapter 60 kidn*pped
Amelia Johnson jolted awake from her sleep.
“Had a nightmare?” Damien Taylor asked with concern.
She nodded. “Yeah.”
“What was it about?”
“I dreamed you kidnapped me,” Amelia replied.

Damien chuckled, eyes glinting with mischief. “They say dreams mean the opposite, but that’s a wild one.”
Amelia glanced at the rope in Damien’s hand and shrieked.
“What’s wrong, Amelia?” he asked quickly, clearly alarmed.
She reached out and pinched his face. “Does that hurt?”
He looked confused but still answered, “Yeah, it does.”
She let out a sigh of relief. “Ok, just a bad dream.”
“What kind of nightmare was it?” he asked again.
“I dreamt you kidnapped me, then I woke up… only to realize I was still being kidnapped-it was one of those dreams within a dream. Totally freaked me out.” She patted her chest to calm herself.
“Then it’s definitely the opposite,” Damien said.
Amelia eyed him. “You said the same thing in my dream.”
Damien grinned softly. “Don’t worry, we’re home.”
She looked out the window and realized the car had stopped in front of a villa. “You didn’t wake me up?”
“You were sleeping soundly, so I figured I’d let you rest.” As he spoke, he pulled out a tissue and gently wiped the drool from the corner of her mouth.
Embarrassed, Amelia lowered her head. “I wasn’t drooling too badly, was I?”
“Not at all.” Damien gave a light smile. “Honestly, kind of cute.”
She gave him a faint smile in return. “Thanks for the ride. I’ll head in now.”
But when she tried the door, it wouldn’t open. She called Emily Carter.
“I’m not home-the lock broke. I’ll get someone to fix it tomorrow,” said Emily.
“So what am I supposed to do now?” Amelia frowned.
“If you don’t wanna go back to the Johnsons’, just grab a hotel room for the night,” Emily suggested.
Amelia sighed. “Alright, go do your thing.”

Damien had just parked and walked over. “Why aren’t you going in?”
“The lock’s busted,” she replied, looking frustrated.
“If you don’t mind, you could erash at my place,” he offered.
“I mean… if you’re okay with it.” She didn’t exactly want to go back to her family tonight anyway.
Damien smiled. “I don’t mind. Besides, you know I hate sleeping alone in the dark. Having you there will help me sleep better.”
“How did you manage before, though?” she asked.
“Left the lights on,” he replied.
Once inside, Amelia suddenly remembered she didn’t have any spare clothes..
“Do you have any women’s clothes here?” she asked.
Damien glanced at her. “You’re the only woman who’s ever been here.”
Amelia bit her lip. “Then what am I supposed to wear to sleep?”
“Just wear mine. Once the lock’s fixed tomorrow, you can grab your stuff.” he said.
After her shower, Amelia came downstairs in Damien’s oversized pajamas. They were way too big, but
kind of suited her.
She went to get a glass of water and noticed Damien sitting on the couch, working on his laptop.
