Chapter 70 Couch potato-2
Amelia hesitated for a moment, then took his hand. “I was thinking the same.”
Jack followed suit. “Alright then, let’s sneak out through the back door.
Time passed without any response. Sabrina knocked once more but got nothing back.
Ethan Collins pulled out his phone and called Amelia. To his surprise, she picked up immediately.
“Amelia, where are you?”
“Heading home. Did you need something?” Honestly, she hadn’t planned to answer-her finger slipped.
Ethan frowned. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“You didn’t see me leave with Damien and Jack?” Her voice was calm.
Sabrina chimed in, “Sis, you came with me and Ethan. If you weren’t going to ride back with us, you should’ve told us in advance. Do you have any idea how worried we were? You can’t just think about yourself-it’s really selfish.”
“Everything happened pretty suddenly. Damien and Jack asked to meet privately. I couldn’t exactly ask them to take me home-that’s kinda awkward. I thought if they didn’t offer, I’d call you guys,” Amelia explained. “And the party’s barely started. It’s gonna last at least another couple hours. We might come
back.”
“But didn’t you just say you were on your way home?” Sabrina pressed.
“Maybe, maybe not. They mentioned going for a night drive,” Amelia replied soon after, letting out a soft chuckle.
The sound of her light laughter made Sabrina grit her teeth. “Seriously, you’re going for a drive while me and Ethan were freaking out over you?”
“You know what kind of people Damien and Jack are, right? Do I look like someone who can say no?” Amelia’s lips curled into a cool smile. “Anyway, that’s all. Bye.”
“Wait, sis-” Sabrina tried to respond, but the line already went dead.
