Chapter 74 This Is a suite
Amelia Johnson took a sip of her milk. “Dad, I said I graduated from University College Moon.”
Richard Johnson frowned. Stop messing around. You dropped out at eighteen, right? Didn’t you finish some trade school or something?”

“I’m not joking, Dad. I actually graduated from University Collège Moon at sixteen. If you don’t believe me, ask Sabrina.” Amelia curled her lips into a slight smile and glanced over at her sister.
Sabrina Johnson kept her eyes on her toast, chewing as if it tasted like cardboard. Her voice was vague. “I think that’s right…”
“Sabrina, don’t join in the teasing,” Richard said, a little annoyed.
“Seriously, Dad, I’m telling the truth.” Amelia pulled out her phone and brought up a digital version of her graduation certificate. “If you don’t believe me, ask Damien Taylor or Jack Mitchell. They were my seniors.”
She handed over last night’s group photo.
“You know Jack Mitchell?” Richard looked stunned.
Amelia nodded. “Yup. Damien and Jack even took me for a drive last night.”
“Why didn’t you tell us something this amazing earlier? I always thought you just came out of trade school!
Back when Amelia first came back home five years ago, she had claimed she’d already graduated. Even so, Richard had still wanted her to enroll in a proper school – at least for the appearance of it.
But truthfully, she’d embarrassed him one too many times, and Grace Williams had told him flat-out that Amelia, raised in the countryside, wasn’t cut out for urban life. If she was forced back into school, she’d just mess up, waste money, and make the family look foolish.
So Richard gave up on that idea. But now, finding out she was actually a University College Moon graduate? This felt like something out of a dream.
Amelia blinked those big, innocent eyes. “I didn’t think it mattered that much. I mean, I only stayed at University College Moon for a year before graduating.”
“You finished in a year?” Richard asked in disbelief.
Amelia nodded. “Uh-huh. One year and I was done.”
Richard broke into a wide grin, looking downright thrilled. “Amelia, you are something else. I’m proud of you, sweetheart!”
“Can we do a birthday party then?” Amelia jumped at the moment, seizing the chance.
“Of course, let’s celebrate in a few days,” Richard replied happily without hesitation.
“You forgot what happened at her birthday five years ago?” Grace quickly cut in, looking uneasy.
The reminder wiped the smile right off Richard’s face. He grew serious. “Amelia, you messed up big time

back then. Maybe we shouldn’t risk it again. What if you stir up more trouble?”
“Okay,” Amelia said, her eyes cooling subtly. So, just like that, no party? Not on your life. Just wait.

“Yeah, Amelia,” Grace said with a gentle smile, “Your dad’s just looking out for you. Some people are book smart but totally hopeless outside of that-like, real-life stuff just doesn’t click, you know? They act like airheads. Not saying you are, just giving an example.”
Amelia returned a sweet smile, though something unreadable flickered in her eyes. “I get it. After all, you, Dad, and Sabrina – you’re my family. You all totally have my best interests at heart.”After breakfast, Amelia Johnson went upstairs to change, then came back down.
“Hey, where are you heading?” Sabrina Johnson asked, trying to sound casual.
Amelia adjusted her clothes while glancing at the mirror. “Damien wants me to go get my foot checked again.”
“Isn’t it already healed?” Sabrina bit her lip, jealousy flashing in her eyes.
Amelia threw her a small smile. “Yeah, it’s been fine for a while. But Damien says he’s still worried, so I’ve got to show up a few more times.”
Sabrina clenched her fists, forcing a smile. “Well, hope you’re back early.”
As Amelia walked out the door, Sabrina couldn’t hold back and quickly tailed after her.
“Where are you off to?” Grace Williams saw her heading out and stopped her.
