Amelia Johnson suddenly remembered-this floor that Emily Carter had picked didn’t have surveillance cameras. She finally let out a breath of relief.

“Mr. Starr said they set the time for 10 a.m.,” Damien Taylor said as he powered on the computer and started working his magic on the keyboard.

Soon, the hotel’s surveillance footage popped up on the screen.

Damien frowned slightly as he watched, “Mr. Starr already left about ten minutes ago.”

“That early? So… he met Joey or completely missed him?” Amelia blinked, knowing they’d agreed on ten, but both parties had shown up earlier than planned.

“He’s not waiting around for Joey.” Damien shut the laptop.

“Really? He’s just… leaving?” Amelia asked.

“Like you said, Joey’s secretive. If we bother him without invite, it’ll just tick him off.” Damien wrapped his arm around Amelia and gently pulled her closer.

He was a lot stronger than he looked. Amelia nearly toppled straight into him.

“What do you wanna eat for lunch?” Damien asked softly near her ear.

His warm breath brushed her skin, and she couldn’t help but shrink her neck a little. “Anything’s fine…”

“Nervous?” Damien looked at her intently.

“A bit, yeah…” Amelia admitted.

Suddenly, Damien leaned in and kissed her softly.

“Mm…” Amelia’s eyes widened in surprise.

Damien pulled back and looked at her with a warm yet assertive gaze. “We’re dating now. You better start getting used to this.”

Blushing, Amelia murmured, “Actually, I needed your help with something.”

“It’s not even a favor-your problems are mine too.” Damien’s voice softened as he looked at her shy expression that practically melted his heart.

“I’m thinking of redoing my birthday party, but Dad wasn’t up for it,” she pouted, clearly upset.

Back at the Johnson residence, Sabrina Johnson placed a call to Richard Johnson.

“Dad, do you know where Amelia went?” she asked anxiously.

Richard sounded a bit puzzled. “Probably went for a check-up with Damien. What’s going on?”

Sabrina replied, “I didn’t see Damien pick her up today. Pretty sure she left by taxi. I got kinda worried, tried video calling her, but she turned me down.”
