Ethan instinctively stepped in front of Amelia, taking the splash of wine straight on his shirt.
“You okay, Ethan?” Sabrina quickly pulled out some tissues and started dabbing at him.
“I’m fine.” Ethan shook his head slightly. Honestly, he wasn’t even sure why he’d stepped in-maybe just a reflex.
“Seriously, sis, how could you be so disrespectful to Sophia? You need to apologize right now!” Sabrina’s voice was sharp, filled with jealousy. Why had Ethan shielded Amelia like that?
“How was I disrespectful?” Amelia blinked her big eyes, clearly upset. “I don’t get it. Seems like Sophia was being rude to me. What did I even do to deserve that?”
Sabrina snapped, “Sophia is a super famous actress, and you acted like you didn’t know who she was. That’s just plain rude.”
“That’s ridiculous! I don’t fake it-I mostly just watch Isla Shaw’s shows.” Amelia shot back with a sweet but pointed tone. She remembered something and suddenly didn’t feel like playing nice.
Sophia’s face turned red with anger. She hissed through gritted teeth, “Zoey, I don’t care-get that girl out of my sight!”
Zoey pointed right at Amelia, looking smug. “You heard her. Time to go!”
“But you guys were the ones who invited me,” Amelia’s eyes watered, her expression hurt. “Now you’re kicking me out for no reason? What did I even do?”
“This place isn’t for some hillbilly like you. If you don’t leave, I’ll get security to throw you out,” Zoey threatened coldly.
Grabbing Ethan’s arm, Amelia looked utterly vulnerable. “Ethan, can you be honest-do I deserve this?”
Ethan frowned slightly, then answered slowly, “Honestly, you’re kind of in the wrong here. Even I recognize Sophia-how could you not know her?”
Amelia gave herself a silent, bitter laugh. So much for thinking Ethan would take her side this time.
Still, it was weird. If he didn’t back her up verbally, why’d he jump in to block the wine earlier? Just trying to be a gentleman?
Sophia took a deep breath and sat back down. “Forget it. I’m not one to hold grudges. Let’s play dice.”
Sabrina shot Amelia an annoyed look. “Sis, aren’t you gonna thank Sophia?”
Amelia pretended not to hear. Instead, she turned to Sophia, looking hesitant. “Sophia, I’m really bad at dice games… maybe you guys go ahead.”
Sophia smiled like the cat that caught the canary. “Oh, it’s super easy. I can teach you.”
“Thanks, I’ll take your word for it.” Amelia kept a chill smile, but inside she was already rolling her eyes. Yeah, no way that offer came from a good place.

Chapter 81ront
If they wanted to play, she’d play.
Ethan stood up, glancing at Sabrina. “I’m gonna change-carry on without me.”
Amelia scratched her head, brows furrowed. “Sophia, I seriously don’t get it. Mind explaining again?”
“No point. Just play a couple rounds and you’ll catch on,” Zoey said, shaking the dice cup in her hand.” Let’s go. Lose and you drink.”
Ctay
“Huh? Drinking too?” Amelia frowned, looking awkward. “My tolerance’s kinda garbage. Can I just do half a glass?”
“Nope.” Zoey raised her eyebrows.
“Don’t worry, sis,” Sabrina chimed in comfortingly. “Newbies usually have good luck.”
“Well… okay then. Just go easy on me, alright?” Amelia nodded slightly, acting a bit slow on the
uptake. Seeing that dumb look on Amelia Johnson’s face, Sabrina Johnson couldn’t help but roll her eyes, the disdain practically dripping from her gaze.
In the first round, all three of them went easy on Amelia, and Zoey Mitchell ended up losing. But starting from the second round, they clearly teamed up to crush her.
Weird thing was, Amelia just wouldn’t lose. The others kept taking turns drinking while she sat there, totally unfazed.
