Chapter 87 Hotel
“Yeah.” Amelia Johnson glanced toward the door, thinking Damiert Taylor had already left.
Richard Johnson gave her a nudge and said half-jokingly, “You, go call Mr Taylor in for a bit, don’t let him just sit in the car!”
“He’s probably busy. I don’t want to keep him, Amelia said, her eyes following the black Bentley parked outside. Damien didn’t seem like he planned to leave. “I’ll go ask him.”
As she approached the car, the window rolled down.
“Mr. Taylor, my dad’s inviting you in. But if you’re swamped, maybe another time.” Amelia looked genuinely uneasy about bothering him.’
Damien unfastened his seatbelt. “I’m not busy.”
“But you worked overtime last night,” Amelia mumbled, remembering how he’d fallen asleep from exhaustion after staying up late.
Damien pushed the door open. “It was worth it. Most of it’s done now anyway.”
Right on cue, Richard walked out to greet him, smile wide. “Mr. Taylor, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?”
“Neither of us has eaten,” Damien replied coolly.
“Well then, if you don’t mind, join us for breakfast,” Richard offered eagerly.
“Sure.” Damien didn’t hesitate.
Just a few steps in, Damien suddenly scooped Amelia off her feet.
“You know you’ve got low blood sugar. Why didn’t you eat earlier? What if you passed out on the street?”
“She’s always been a bit scatterbrained,” Richard chimed in with a chuckle. “Come on, thank Mr. Taylor for the save!”
“I wasn’t gonna faint…” Amelia said in a small voice.
“You’re pale,” Damien said, though the truth was-he just wanted to hold her.
Watching this scene, Ethan Collins clenched his jaw as frustration simmered low. Meanwhile, Sabrina Johnson looked like she was about to explode with jealousy.
“When did she go out?” Ethan asked, frowning.
Sabrina shrugged. “No idea. She didn’t say anything at all.”
“This girl’s getting worse and worse,” Grace Williams sighed dramatically. “I can’t control her anymore-not that I ever could.”
Sabrina didn’t hide her irritation. “She doesn’t even treat us like family anymore. She hides everything.”

Back at the table, Damien set Amella gently onto a chair.
“What kind of breakfast do you like, Mr. Taylor?” Richard asked with a pleasant smile.
“Whatever Amelia usually eats is fine,” Damien said simply.
That was Richard’s cue. He told the housekeeper to prepare an impressive spread-definitely more elaborate than Amelia’s usual routine meals.
After breakfast, Amelia made to stand, but Damien held her arm.
She turned, puzzled. “What?”
“Hold still,” Damien said as he gently wiped a bit of milk from the corner of her mouth.
Amelia blushed, her voice soft. “…Thanks.”
Seeing Damien’s tenderness toward Amelia, Richard seized the moment, trying to bring up business.
“Mr. Taylor, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about a project—”
But Damien didn’t even glance at him. “I have something to do. Gotta go.”
Left hanging, Richard just nodded with a forced smile. “Of course, take care.”
