Chapter 113 Caught on Camera
B
In the end, Nora couldn’t bring herself to hold any of it against Constance. She was only a grandmother who wanted Julian to live.
She smiled and kept her voice easy. “It was beautiful. I just didn’t want it, so I let it go.”
Constance tried again. “What sort of thing do you like, then? I’ll get a designer to make something for you. Buy a raw emerald and start there.”
“There’s no need. I’m going up.” Nora smiled at her and went inside.
Constance seemed to think there was something she had to make up to her, and none of it was necessary.
She watched her go and let out another long breath.
Nora was changing into her house slippers in the entryway when she caught Sienna staring at her, wary as anything, and it pulled her brows together. “What?”
“Nothing.” Sienna looked away.
Nora had no patience for an idiot and went upstairs.
Sienna watched her go, then hurried over. “Grandma, I heard something today. I don’t know whether I should tell you.”
“What is it? Say it straight. What’s all this hedging?” Constance had never liked that in her.
It didn’t help that Sienna wasn’t her own blood.
“It’s about Nora. I don’t know if I should say it. I’m afraid you won’t believe me.”
Constance went back to her shears. “Then it’s nothing good, and you’d be better off keeping it to yourself.”
That settled it for Sienna. “Grandma, today I heard Nora…”
Constance turned away from her. “Go get your hair done. Take a trip somewhere. If it shouldn’t be said, don’t say it.”
She clearly had no intention of hearing any of it.
The less Constance wanted to hear it, the more Sienna wanted it out. “Nora is planning to photograph Julian’s project proposal!”
Her shears closed hard, and a whole peony came off with the snip.
She looked up, frowning. “Don’t throw words around like that. Nora has no reason to photograph anything of the sort. Don’t slander her. I don’t believe a word of it.”
Nora knew exactly how serious that was, and Constance couldn’t see her breaking the law over it.
Sienna’s mouth went down. “If she didn’t already have it in her head, nothing I said would matter. I heard it with my own ears. She agreed to photograph that proposal. I sat on it all day before I came to you.”

“Do you have proof?” Constance asked.
Sicna shook her head. “No. I was too rattled and forgot to record it.”
Finisher
Constance stared at her. “No proof, and here you are talking. Don’t think I don’t know. You’re the one who brought Trevor around last time, and you’re the one who put a photographer on it.”
She smacked her on the arm. “You’re Julian’s cousin. What exactly are you after, stirring up shit in his marriage? If there’s something wrong with your head, go get it looked at.”
There was no force behind the smack, but the words landed hard on Sienna.
“I don’t think Nora is good enough for Julian. That other business was me, and I’ll own it, but this time I’m, not stirring anything.
“Whatever else I am, I’m a Weston. We’re family and Nora isn’t. If that proposal gets photographed and we lose the bid, the Westons take the loss, and so does my share of the dividends!
“She hasn’t taken the pictures yet, and me saying it doesn’t fix anything. I only want you all watching her. Don’t wait until it’s gone and then be sorry.”
Constance stood there with the shears in her hand, and some of it made sense to her.
Sienna had no idea what she was thinking, and it came out sulky. “Anyway, I’ve warned you. Whether you take it in and whether you watch Nora is up to you.”
The last of Constance’s interest in the garden went with it. She set the shears down. “Enough. I’ve heard you.”
Sienna decided none of it had gone in, and it made her dig in. She’d get proof herself and show them Nora really would do it!
And I’m telling Julian.
He had to know that Nora didn’t care about him at all, that she’d turn on him and steal that proposal.
Then, Julian would be finished with her. He’d divorce her and marry Olivia!
Upstairs, Nora meant to go straight to her room, but the study beside it stopped her.
The Orion proposal…
Nora knew the project. Adrian had gone after it the first time around too, and she’d stopped him.
After all, she’d looked into Orion back then. It was barely workable, with no room in it to make money, and there was something seriously wrong behind the people pushing it.
It had taken real work to talk Adrian out of the bid.
In the end, the Westons took it for $500,000,000.
At this point the first time around, Julian had already been lying in the ICU, so the one who bid wasn’t him. It was somebody from the second branch.
