Chapter 118 The Wrong Woman

do it!” Sienna had a key card from the front desk and went for the lock.

Adrian had heard Julian was on his way to catch his wife with somebody else and came running, shouting to stop them. “Wait…”

The lock clicked, and the door swung hard open. A faint smell of blood came out with it, and the thick swee scent, and the smell a man leaves behind him, all at once.

From the doorway, they could make out a woman pinned under Trevor, her dress shoved up past her waist.

The shape of her lined up with Nora’s.

Sienna recognized the shape and shouted it, furious. “Grandma! Julian! It really is Nora!”

Then, she pushed to the front and aimed the camera straight at her face. “Nora, I can’t believe you’d chea on my-”

The rest died there. She saw the face clearly, and shock pushed her voice up. “Mandy? Why is it you? Where’s Nora?”

Olivia’s smile dropped when she saw Mandy. Mandy? Where’s Nora?

Adrian heard her name, shoved through the crowd, and forced his way in. “That isn’t Mandy…

The rest stopped in his throat. Trevor was there, and so was Mandy, her dress torn and shoved up to her stomach, covering almost nothing.

It put him straight back into his childhood.

He’d come home one day and found his mother in bed with her lover, and the room that day had smelled exactly like this one.

Adrian’s stomach turned over hard.

Mandy heard his voice, shoved Trevor off her, and threw herself into his arms, shaking. “Ace…”

Her hands on him pushed the nausea to its peak, and he shoved her off with real force. “Don’t touch me!”

Mandy went down, crawled to his feet, and locked her arms around his leg. “It isn’t what you’re seeing. I was set up. Nora did this to me.”

She held her arms up to show the scratches, the bites, the cuts from glass. “Look at me. These are from fighting him off…”

Adrian had her wrapped around his leg and felt nothing but sick. Whatever she was shouting, none of it reached him.

All he wanted was her off him, with no gentleness in it at all, and not one thought for the night she’d saved his life.

He felt sick, and then more than sick.

Mandy held on harder and sobbed it out. “Nothing happened between me and Trevor. Ace, believe me You

ve to believe me.”

The feel of her on him was unbearable, and he kept trying to get her off.

But she hung on and sobbed her way through the whole explanation, and all of it was laid at Nora’s door.

Sienna watched the two of them tangled together, found nobody else in the room, and went blank for second.

Then, she turned and tore through the room, calling as she went. “Nora, you’re in here somewhere Come out. Stop hiding. I saw you walk into this room.”

But she went through the balcony and the bathroom and there was no Nora anywhere.

Julian stood in the doorway without going in, and his voice came out flat. “This is you seeing Nora walk into that room with your own eyes?”

“I…” The look in his eyes frightened her, and Sienna hurried over to Constance. “Grandma, it really was Nora. It can’t have been Mandy. It was absolutely Nora…”

“You’re that certain it was me?”

Nora’s voice came in cool from the doorway, cutting off the rest of that sentence and the noise in the room with it.

Sienna looked up and found her standing there, and her eyes went wide. “You… how are you at the door? How did it turn into Mandy?”

Then, it seemed to land for her. “You knew I was bringing Grandma and Julian, so you swapped Mandy in at the last minute. That’s it, isn’t it?”

Nora looked at her with cold contempt. “How badly do you need Julian to fall? You want his wife cheating on him, you want something to happen to him, and then your brother gets the seat as the Weston heir. Is that it?”

Nothing set Constance off like anyone eyeing the succession. Anybody who wanted it got thrown out of the family and cut off for good!

Sienna scrambled to explain. “That’s not it. Don’t make things up.”

Mandy still had Adrian’s leg locked in her arms and wouldn’t let go, kick or no kick.

She heard that voice, looked up, and came off the floor in a rush. “Nora, you set me up. I’ll kill you!”

Nora watched her come at her like a charging bull, kept her face flat, and kicked her clean across the room, where she landed next to Trevor.

Mandy curled up around the pain, sobbing it out. “Ace, believe me.”

Adrian frowned at that and still didn’t go to her.

Julian’s cold eyes settled on Nora and stayed there, and his voice came out low. “Nora.”
