Hvoice dropped hard. “Mandy lit a stimulant in that room and tried to have Nora assaulted. That is already a crime. She didn’t mention it, did she?”

Yvette went straight into a panic. “Mandy isn’t like that. Is there some misunderstanding, Mr. Weston?”

Victor jumped in too. “Mandy and Nora have always gotten along. She couldn’t have done something like that. There must be more to it. You should look into it more carefully, Mr. Weston.”

Nora watched the two of them and laughed out loud. “I break the law and it’s prison. Mandy breaks the law and it’s a misunderstanding that needs more investigation?”

She looked at them with contempt. “That is quite a double standard.”

Victor went still, then turned to Mandy. “What is this? Is what she’s saying true?”

The proof was all there, so she could hardly deny it. Her mouth went down. “Nothing happened to her, did it? I’m the one who got hurt. And Ace already paid $100,000,000 to make it go away.

“It’s over and done with. What’s the point of going over it? Nora cost the Weston Group that bid and more money than any of us will ever see. That’s the real problem here.”

Victor’s head went light with rage. “You… you really are something. Why didn’t you tell me any of this?”

He’d come racing over to play the upright father who turns in his own daughter, and the Westons didn’t care in the slightest!

Nora looked up at him. “You love being the upright father, Dad. Mandy has broken the law now, so is it 100 strokes with the whip, or do you call the police and send her to prison?”

Then, she turned her head to Yvette. “You’re not a good stepmother, but you’re certainly a real mother. You must be willing to serve a sentence for your own daughter.”

Mandy’s voice went shrill. “Nora, you already took $100,000,000 from Ace. It’s finished. Why are you dragging it back up?”

Nora lifted her chin and looked at her coldly. “If you hadn’t left our father in the dark and come here to stir him up against me, why would I bother?”

Julian sounded thoroughly unimpressed. “You think $100,000,000 matters to us? Do we need your money to settle last night?”

He let out a breath, and his face went to ice. “If Nora hadn’t taken you for a sister and let it go for your father’s sake, do you think $100,000,000 covers somebody nearly putting my wife in another man’s bed?”

Victor had heard enough of it to put the picture together, and he looked at the cold coming off Julian.

He brought his hand up in a rage and slapped Mandy across the face.

The crack of it filled the room, and her head went to one side with it.

Mandy held her cheek and stared up at him, stunned. “Dad, what was that for?”

Chapter 132 A Hundred Strokes

“It was for you! Going after your own sister.” Victor brought his hand up again.

Yvette grabbed his arm fast. “Victor, talk to her. Hitting people doesn’t solve anything, and Mandy is a victim in this too.”

Nora got up and said it quietly. “Don’t use your hand, Dad. It doesn’t solve anything.”

She picked the whip up off the coffee table and held it out. “Use this instead. A hundred strokes and Mandy/ will remember it. She won’t dare do anything like it again, and then it’s solved.”

Mandy wasn’t having it. “Ace gave you $100,000,000. It’s settled. Don’t stand there egging our father on to hit me.”

Julian’s eyes came up, cold. “That money only bought Nora dropping it. My grandmother and I haven’t dropped anything.”

Constance came in behind him, set on backing Nora up. “What I want isn’t unreasonable. We’ll take Mr. Sinclair’s own proposal. Either 100 strokes, or the police and a prison sentence.

“Do that and I won’t take it any further with Mandy, or with the Sinclairs.”

Julian and Constance looked more serious about it than they had all morning.

Victor didn’t want to look as if he were favoring his daughter in front of them either. The Westons might stop helping the Sinclairs over it.

It took him about a second to weigh it. Then, he grabbed the whip out of Nora’s hand and brought it down on Mandy.

“Ah!” It landed, and she came straight off the couch and ran. “Dad, I’m the victim here!”

Victor went after her with the whip, swinging. “This is for having a rotten heart. This is for going after your sister. Today I teach you properly!”

“Victor, talk to her. Don’t hit the girl…”

Yvette stood up to get between them.

Julian looked at her, cold. “So you’d rather Mandy wasn’t hit and went to prison instead?”

That stopped Yvette where she stood, and all she could do was watch Victor hit her, and every bit of it hurt to look at.

She was sick about it too. She’d come here to enjoy watching Nora squirm.

Instead, she got to watch her own daughter take a beating, and it made her furious!

Mandy felt worse. Trevor had nearly raped her, Ace had paid out $100,000,000 over it, and now her own father was hitting her!
