Chapter 134 The Fight in the Car
Name of it was a public resort. This was the Weston Estate, and standing in front of money like that, Victor felt like a man without a cent to his name.
Yvette looked at the ornamental trees. One olive tree alone was worth $1,000,000, and she couldn’t get over it.
She pulled Mandy closer and asked her quietly, “You’ve been to the Pierce estate. How does it compare with this?”
Her mouth pulled to one side. “What I like is Ace. I’m not with him for his family.”
That told Yvette everything. The Pierces didn’t come close to the Westons.
The regret came up in her all at once, and she couldn’t help going at Mandy for it. “Look at how rich this family is. Look at how Julian and Madam Weston spoil Nora. And then look at you…”
Yvette took in the marks all over her and felt sick and furious at the same time. “Why didn’t you marry him when you had the chance? Now Nora has all of it and you’re covered in welts.”
Then came the worried question. “And after last night, is Adrian still willing to marry you?”
Mandy’s step stopped, and she pressed her lips together. “I saved Ace’s life, and I just won him that bid. Of course he’s going to marry me!”
Yvette looked at her and knew there was nothing behind the answer.
“He really doesn’t mind? He saw it with his own eyes, and he…”
Mandy cut her off, angry. “Don’t put that on Ace. He doesn’t mind. All he feels is sorry that somebody did that to me.”
Yvette was worried all the same. “Any man would mind that, especially after seeing it. And what about the rest of the Pierces?”
That stopped Mandy for a second. Then she thought of how the Pierces had doted on Nora in her previous life, and the confidence came back. “Of course they won’t mind. They’re good people. They’ll treat me like a daughter.”
She took her arm. “Stop worrying. Ace and I are going to be fine. I won him that bid. I’m his girlfriend, I saved his life, and now I’m the one who got him Orion. He’ll love me to death.”
Yvette felt better about it and still couldn’t help the warning. “Stop going head to head with Nora. The time isn’t right. And if you really can’t help yourself, at least don’t do it with your own hands…”
Mandy had heard all of that too many times, and she put on her coaxing voice to end it. “I know, Mom. I’ll do better.”
Yvette could tell from the sound of it that none of it had gone in, and she shook her head, out of ideas.
Then, she looked ahead at Nora and thought over everything that had happened lately. Her daughter had come off worse every single time.

Chapter 134 The Fight in the Car
Mandy clearly wasn’t a match for her, and it was time to start helping.
Noa walked them through part of the grounds and brought them back to the main house right at lunchtime.

There were guests in the house, so Constance got up and sat through lunch with them. It was the polite thing to do.
After the meal, Victor watched the staff load bag after bag into his car, and when he finally left he could hardly make himself go.
At the Weston Estate, he’d felt like a king, and only now did he understand what rich actually meant.
His own car had cost over $1,000,000, and in the Weston garage that was the cheapest thing in there.
Thinking about it, he turned his head to Mandy. “Move faster with Adrian and get married sooner. And stop going against your sister. Look at what you did yesterday. It landed right back on you.”
She glanced down at her phone. There was no call from Adrian and no message either, and her mouth pulled down.
What she wanted was to get married sooner, and wanting it on her own wasn’t enough.
Yvette looked up at Victor. “You have some nerve telling Mandy to hurry up and marry. You weren’t so worried about going easy when you were hitting her.”
The more she thought about the morning, the angrier she got. “And you didn’t say one word for me. You actually tried to talk me into going to prison for Nora.”
Victor’s face went hard. “You were the one putting on a show about going to prison for her. I only helped you look good.”
Yvette laughed at that. “I’m putting on a show and you’re the good man? Trying to send me to prison. Aren’t you worried I’ll bring up that little matter?”
That got him, and he looked at her in the rearview mirror, furious. “Yvette, bring that up one more time and see what happens!”
Yvette wasn’t afraid of him and held his eyes. “Victor, let me remind you of something. Mandy is your daughter. Mandy and I are the ones on your side. Don’t go making her suffer just to climb in with the Westons, or else…”
“Yvette!” Victor stamped on the brake in a rage.
Her head hit the back of the front seat, and her temper went straight up. “Am I wrong? Don’t you shout at me! Nora’s mother…”
“Shut up!” Victor grabbed a handful of tissues and threw them in her face.
Yvette’s hand shot out and caught him by the hair, and then she took her handbag to him, swinging it again and again. “You had the nerve to do it then, and now you’re afraid of people talking?”
They were in the middle of it when Mandy saw a guard coming up outside the car, and she hurried to warn
