Chapter 152 Who Is Mrs Weston
Judan answered fast. “Give me 10 minutes.”
Nora started to tell him to take his time, but he had already hung up, so she settled in to wait.

Julian spent the next five minutes running through the priorities, the problems he had flagged earlier, and who was handling what.
“Everything I just flagged, every proposal that didn’t pass, gets rewritten. We’re back in here at 9 tomorrow morning. That’s all.”
Julian stood, and there was something almost light in his voice. “My wife came to pick me up for the first time. The whole company can go home early.”
The executives had walked in braced for a dressing-down and a long night. Instead, they watched the corner of his mouth lift while he sent all of them home.
Then, it dawned on them that his wife had come to pick him up for the first time, and that was why all of them were getting out an hour early.
“Miles, who is Mrs. Weston?”
“Miles, when did he get married?”
“Miles…”
Miles had the evening off too, and before he could get to the elevator, the executives had him surrounded, every one of them digging for anything about who Julian had married.
Miles gave them what he could. “Mr. Weston has been married for a while. As for who she is, I’m sorry. I can’t say yet.”
Somebody pushed anyway. “Okay, but what’s she like? Is she easy to get along with? Is she pretty? Was it an arrangement between the families?”
Miles thought about it. Next to the old families, Nora’s background was nothing special, but everything else about her was.
“She’s impressive. She knows medicine, she’s beautiful, and he’s crazy about her. That’s all I can tell you.”
Then, he got out of there before anyone could corner him with a question he had no good answer for.
The executives crowded the floor-to-ceiling windows, faces nearly against the glass. A few of them had their phones out, zoomed in as far as the lens would go.
They wanted to know what kind of woman could get their ice-cold boss out of the building in such a hurry.
After a few minutes, Julian came out of the lobby and went straight for a red Porsche, and he opened the passenger door himself.
They pressed closer, but the door shut too quickly. Nobody caught so much as a glimpse of her, let alone
her face.

“So who do we think she is?” somebody asked.
One of them answered without thinking twice. “Knows medicine, beautiful, right kind of family. Who else could it be? Olivia Blithe, She checks every box.”
Another jumped in. “Has to be Olivia. The two of them grew up together. I’ve been here years, and she’s the only woman he’s ever treated differently. He spoils her, and he’s into her.”
A third was already nodding. “That’s a Blithe daughter for you. Married to him and still won’t use the name just quietly building a career in medicine. No wonder he loves her.”
Neither Nora nor Julian had any idea what her 10 minutes at the curb had started.
She glanced over at him. “Sorry. I wrecked your afternoon.”
“You didn’t,” Julian said. “The meeting was almost over, and I’m glad you came.”
Nora had walked into his world on her own, not just the house this time, and now other people knew she existed.
There was a lift in his voice she didn’t usually hear, and it tugged at the corner of her mouth. “Mm. Are we going to the restaurant now?”
Julian checked the time. “The reservation is at 7. We could walk around first, then eat, then catch a movie. How does that sound?”
Nora laughed at him. “You have the whole night planned out. This is starting to sound like a date.”
Shopping, dinner, a movie, and home afterward sounded a lot like a date.
The only thing missing was flowers.
Julian looked over at her. “Isn’t that what this is?”
It was the first time he had taken her out to eat, and he had meant it as a date from the start. Apparently she had taken it for an ordinary dinner.
Nora had been teasing him. She hadn’t expected him to take it seriously.
“Julian…”
“Yeah?”
Nora looked at him and thought it through. They were married in the eyes of the law, and she had never been the kind to let other people decide things for her.
She changed the subject instead. “Which restaurant did you book?”
“The Peregrine,” Julian said. “They bring in award-winning chefs from everywhere, so you can get whatever you’re in the mood for.”
Nora knew the name. The Peregrine was the most expensive restaurant in the city, with chefs from all over the world and a menu to match.
