Chapter 220 On Her Knees
B the more Mandy thought about it, the better it sounded.

She’d swallow her pride, greet guests, and serve drinks, all to bring the legendary healer to Evelyn. What a noble sacrifice. Evelyn was sure to be touched, and it would break the ice with Adrian and get them back on track.
It took her all of a moment to decide. She went to change into a greeter’s uniform and took her place right at the front.
After half an hour of standing in the sun in her heels, Mandy was wilting and getting impatient. “Why isn’t the healer here yet?”
It had to be almost an hour by now. Anyone who’d keep Cordelia and all these famous doctors waiting that long had to have a seriously big ego.
“Dr. Blithe and the others are coming out. The healer must be almost here. Get ready, everyone!” someone called.
Back in the lobby, Cordelia had gotten a message, stood up, and smiled at everyone. “I’ve invited a very special guest today, a young healer with an incredible gift. Honestly, I think her skills may surpass my own.
“Now, let’s all go welcome her together.”
Gideon frowned and asked her quietly, “This young healer you’re talking about… It’s not Nora, is it?”
Cordelia kept walking ahead of him. “It is.”
Gideon’s frown deepened. “Nora’s never claimed to be some kind of prodigy. If you make this big a production and have all these senior doctors come out to greet her, won’t that hurt her?”
Cordelia glanced at him coolly. “Nora thinks she’s better than Olivia, and better than me. She won’t agree to be my student. Isn’t that the same as calling herself a prodigy? So what’s wrong with me calling her one?”
Gideon looked around. Everyone was buzzing, eager to see the young healer. “Dr. Blithe…”
Cordelia stepped out of the lobby and looked straight ahead. She kept her voice low, but she spoke with all the authority of a mentor. “Do you feel sorry for Nora?”
She turned to look at him. “Or do you have feelings for her? Do you think I’m in the wrong?”
Gideon lowered his head. “No. I just don’t think it’s a good idea to put Nora on a pedestal this high.”
Cordelia kept her eyes forward as the black stretch Lincoln came into view. “Last time, I slipped up with the invitation, and it turned into a fiasco.
“This time, I’m formally inviting Nora and introducing her to the medical world. Consider it my way of making up for last time.”
Nora sat in the back of the stretch Lincoln. A Hummer led the way, and understated luxury cars flanked her on both sides and brought up the rear.

Chapter 220 On Her Knees
At the hotel entrance, she saw a huge crowd, and Cordelia was standing at the head of it.
Ageng the greeters, Mandy was craning her neck, waiting eagerly for her.
That made Nora raise an eyebrow. “Well, today should be interesting.”

Mandy was stunned by the sight. She couldn’t help blurting out, “Wow, this healer really knows how to make an entrance. It’s like royalty arriving!”
More than a dozen luxury cars made up the escort. Uniformed security and greeters lined both sides, and/ even heavyweights in medicine like Cordelia were waiting eagerly.
“The last time I saw a setup like this, it was Julian’s entourage,” Mandy murmured.
That was when Constance and Julian had come to the Sinclairs to ask for Nora’s hand. Nora must have been insufferably smug about it.
If Mandy could get in with this healer, she’d be every bit Nora’s equal from now on.
Maybe she could even get the healer to treat Julian. Then she’d have Adrian in her debt on one side and Julian in her debt on the other, and she could take her pick of the two.
The thought got Mandy even more excited. She was determined to be first in line and make sure the healer noticed her.
The stretch Lincoln had barely stopped when the door swung open, and a woman stepped out, long, shapely legs first.
Mandy had already staked out the perfect spot, and since she was a greeter, nobody thought to stop her. She rushed forward and dropped to her knees with a thud.
“My name is Mandy Sinclair! Please, I’m begging you, treat my boyfriend’s mother and my brother-in-law! If you can save them, I’ll pay anything and do anything you ask!”
Then, she bowed her head and clasped her hands, to show how sincere she was.
Someone above her let out a mocking laugh. It sounded familiar. Mandy lifted her head slightly and saw that she was groveling at a pair of pretty feet.
For some reason, a bad feeling crept over her. That cold laugh sounded way too much like Nora’s. It can’t be her. Can it?
No way! Nora can’t be the healer! Mandy pushed the thought away and pressed herself even lower.
“I’m sincerely asking you to treat my boyfriend’s mother and my brother-in-law,” she pleaded. “If you don’t think I mean it, you can say no. There’s no need to laugh at me.”
Nora looked down at Mandy groveling at her feet and laughed. “Mandy, you really are a wonderful sister. You’re even more eager to save my husband than I am.”
Mandy jerked her head up. Nora was looking down at her like a queen, her expression dripping with scorn. And Mandy had just been groveling at her feet, begging!
She’d never been so humiliated. She shot to her feet and glared at Nora. “What are you doing here? Why are
