name is Tanya Ingram!” she cried through her tears. “I went to school with Nora Sinclair, the young hearer you’re all worshiping today!

“I’ll admit we had some issues back in school, so I went online and exposed what she did back then.

“But she comes from money, and she landed a man even richer than my husband. She threatened my husband and my in-laws. She said I had to back down and apologize, or she’d bankrupt my husband’s family!

“I had no choice. These past few days, I’ve been running all over trying to make things right, trying to apologize and make peace with her.

“But she wouldn’t even see me. Yesterday, I went to Starfall Media to find her, and she mocked me. I’m pregnant, and she cursed me and said I’d lose my baby!

“I got so upset that I started showing signs of a miscarriage. I had to check into the hospital so they could try to save the pregnancy.”

Tanya glared at Nora with pure hatred and jabbed a finger at her. “But Nora wasn’t going to let me off that easy! She bribed a nurse to swap out my anti-miscarriage medication, and I lost my baby!

“Now the doctors say I’ll never be able to have children, and it’s all Nora’s fault!

“You owe me my baby’s life!”

Tanya was screaming with rage. She grabbed a water bottle off the table and hurled it at Nora.

Adrian saw it and ran toward Nora in alarm. “Look out!”

Nora watched the bottle fly straight at her face without so much as blinking. She just made a fist, raised her hand, and knocked it right back.

The bottle arced through the air and came down on Tanya. She couldn’t dodge in time, and it hit her square in the forehead. She shrieked.

Cordelia rushed to steady her. “Are you all right? Sit down and rest first. Let’s talk this through calmly. There must be some misunderstanding.”

Everyone else who saw it turned on Nora.

Gideon’s expression darkened. “Nora, she just had a miscarriage, and you’re hitting her? Don’t you think that’s going too far?”

Nora scoffed. “She threw the bottle at me first. It almost hit me in the eye. All I did was knock it away. That’s self-defense, not assault!”

Gideon didn’t have an answer for that, so he just glared at her. “If you hadn’t caused her miscarriage, she wouldn’t be this upset. Either way, you should’ve apologized to her first, not gotten physical.”

Nora snorted. “Idiot.”

Then, she looked up and fixed Tanya with a sharp stare. “You’re saying I killed your baby? And made you infertile for life?”

Takya was still holding her forehead, and the look on Nora’s face made her flinch.

But she pressed a hand to her stomach and answered without hesitation. “Yes! You killed my baby! You’re a murderer!

“So either you kill me too, right here and now, or I’ll fight you to the death for my baby!”

Tanya truly hated Nora. It had been so hard for her to get pregnant, and she’d been so careful. She was almost three months along, and the pregnancy was about to stabilize.

With a baby on the way, her place as a rich man’s wife would’ve been secure. But as far as Tanya was concerned, Nora was the reason she’d had a threatened miscarriage. Then, her medication had been switched without her knowing, and in the end, she’d had to terminate the pregnancy!

Nora frowned. Compared to yesterday, Tanya was practically radiating hatred today. She actually believes I paid off a nurse to make her lose the baby?

“Just because you say so? Got any proof?” Nora asked.

Tanya dragged forward a woman Nora had never seen before, dressed in scrubs. “She’s my witness! The proof is the abortion pills she swapped in, and the baby I lost! And…”

The young nurse had never been in a room like this, packed with the biggest names in medicine. She’d only just been hired on full-time. Her own head nurse scared her, let alone all these big shots.

So she glanced at Nora, hunched her shoulders, and said in a tiny voice, “She paid me to swap out the patient’s medication. She said the patient wasn’t even three months along, so the pregnancy wasn’t stable anyway. Everyone would think it was a natural miscarriage. Nobody would suspect me.

“I’ve been wanting a designer bag lately. I couldn’t resist the temptation, so I… I just lost my head and did what she said.”

Nora looked at the nurse, a total stranger, and asked coldly, “We’ve never met, have we? If we don’t even know each other, how could I have asked you to do anything? And you say I paid you. So where’s the money?”

Her cold tone scared the nurse so badly that she burst into tears. “You said you’d pay me afterward! But when I saw the patient lose the baby, I got scared, so I told the head nurse.

“I don’t want the money anymore! Please, just don’t make me pay damages or send me to jail! I swear I didn’t mean it!”

The nurse was trembling and sobbing, terrified.

Tanya screamed at Nora, “Stop trying to scare her! It won’t work. This is all evidence!”

Then, she pointed at Gideon. “And Dr. Vance here examined me yesterday at Starfall Media. He can testify that you cursed me and said I’d lose the baby, and that I got so upset I started miscarrying!

“That’s not one witness. That’s two! Nora Sinclair, you’re the one who had someone kill my baby!”
