Chapter 245 Honey, Let Go

Nora waved a hand in front of his face. He didn’t even blink. “Julian, what’s wrong with you?” she asked anxiously.

Julian kept staring at her, but at the sound of her voice, he suddenly loosened his grip.

Nora took the chance to pull her hand free. Deep finger marks were pressed into her wrist.

Then, she felt the bed shaking. She looked up. Julian had curled into a ball and was trembling all over, and he was clutching the blanket again.

“Julian, what’s going on?” Nora reached out carefully to touch his arm, ready to pull back if he went for her wrist again.

“Get away from me! Don’t touch me!” Julian snarled. He sounded ice-cold, his voice rough and grating, like metal scraping on metal.

He was shaking even harder now, and his breathing grew faster and more ragged. A flush spread across his face and down his neck, and beads of sweat broke out on his skin. In no time, the hair over his forehead was

soaked with cold sweat.

Nora frowned as she watched him. “It’s even worse than last time.” She’d been married to Julian for a while now, but apart from the wedding, this was the first time she’d seen him have one of his attacks.

“Olivia’s treatment was supposed to be working,” she muttered. “So why is this hitting him so suddenly, and so hard?” There was no time to think it through. She grabbed her tortoiseshell clip from the nightstand and slid out the silver needles hidden inside.

Julian was lying on his back in the bathrobe. He’d been thrashing so much that it had fallen open, exposing his chest. He was still shaking, and his eyes were getting more and more bloodshot.

Nora quickly started placing needles, trying to stabilize him.

But she’d only managed two of them, and just as she was drawing them back out, Julian grabbed her wrist again. “Get away from me!”

Then, he let go and shoved her away hard.

Nora nearly fell off the bed. She took a deep breath. “He’s sick. I’m not going to hold it against him.” Then, she moved back toward him to keep going with the needles.

But this time, Julian seized her wrist so hard that the pain forced her to let go, and the needles fell.

The next thing she knew, the room was spinning, and Julian had her pinned beneath him. She let out a muffled cry.

Before she could do anything, he clamped his hand around her throat, and in an instant, she couldn’t breathe.

“Julian, you bastard!” Nora swore furiously and slapped him across the face as hard as she could. Then, she drove her knee into his stomach, grabbed his arm, and threw him off to the side.

She’d barely caught her breath when Julian lunged at her again. She swung one long leg up to kick him.

Julian caught her ankle with lightning speed, yanked her back under him, and locked his hand around hethroat once more. For some reason, he was radiating cold, murderous rage. He looked ready to kill.

Once again, she could barely breathe. He’d pinned her hands above her head and trapped her legs under his

own.

“Julian! Are you trying to fucking kill your own-wife?” Nora used what little air she had left to curse at him, racking her brain for a way to fight back.

This was obviously the toxin. It had hit him hard and fast, and he’d completely lost his mind. In this state, he really could kill her.

But what scared her even more was the thought of Julian dying.

Nora’s face had gone white, and her lips were starting to turn blue. She forced the words out, her voice shaking. “Julian, let… go!”

Julian was out of his mind, so far gone that he didn’t even recognize her. For the first time, she was truly afraid. She was terrified of losing him. The fear swept over her like a riptide and dragged her under, and it hurt even more than not being able to breathe.

She was pinned at the edge of the bed with her head hanging over the side. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted the silver needles that had fallen, just within reach. She stretched out her hand. She thought she felt one brush her fingertips, and she strained to hook it closer.

But with his hand crushing her throat, she was suffocating, and the pain spread through her whole body. Tears spilled from her eyes, and just short of the needle, she lost the strength in her fingers.
