Chapter 260 Then Destroy It
hey’re not the only ones who can treat Julian,” Nora said. “I can too.”

She looked Constance in the eye. “And when I say they don’t need to come, I mean even if they had all the time in the world. You know what they’re really after, Grandma.”
Fiona was still holding a grudge over the slap Nora had given her. “You sure talk big, Ms. Sinclair. If Julian dies, are you going to take responsibility for that?”
Nora tilted her head at her. “Speaking of taking responsibility, Ms. Nash, you haven’t held up your end yet. You said if I was in the ER, you’d go get an abortion.”
“You-” Fiona stammered.
Nora smiled and looked at her stomach. “They can clear an operating room and a team for you right now You can have it done tonight.”
She looked dead serious. Fiona clutched her stomach and backed away, looking sheepish, and she didn’t dare say another word.
Constance could see how sure Nora was. She glanced at the ER doors again. “I’ll have someone get in touch with Cordelia first and see what she says.”
She had no idea how Julian was really doing. She didn’t have Nora’s confidence, and she didn’t have the nerve to gamble with Julian’s life by saying something that bold to a famous doctor. In the end, she was the one who needed a favor, and that always put a person at a disadvantage.

Olivia had just landed on the private jet Constance had sent for her. She’d left Sienna to wait for their luggage and headed straight for the car, only to find Cordelia sitting inside.
She was stunned. “Grandma? Aren’t you supposed to be in surgery? What are you doing here?”
Cordelia looked perfectly calm. “The surgery’s over. I heard your flight was about to land, so I came to wait for you. We need to discuss how to treat Julian.”
“Julian’s attack came on suddenly, and it’s very dangerous,” Olivia said. “We should stick with the old method.”
She noticed there was no driver up front and checked her watch anxiously. “Where’s the driver? Tell him to get in. We need to get to the hospital, fast.”
Olivia looked ready to rocket straight to the hospital, and it drove Cordelia up the wall.
She put a hand over Olivia’s. “Nora’s the one who caused all this, and she hasn’t even called to beg you to come save him. You’ve been out in the mountains doing charity work. Why are you in such a rush to go running to them?”
Olivia stared at her in shock. “Grandma?”
Cordelia checked the time. “Soon, Constance and Nora will both be calling to beg us for help. When that

This time, I’m going to make sure they get divorced, for your sake!”

Olivia felt a jolt. “Grandma, what are you saying?” She nervously glanced out the window to make sure Sienna wasn’t nearby and that nobody else could hear.
Cordelia was the great Dr. Blithe, praised far and wide. People revered her for saving lives and devoting herself to healing. She was considered one of the last truly principled doctor’s left.
If anyone found out she was using Julian’s life as a bargaining chip to make Nora beg, and to force a divorce on top of that, her lifelong reputation would be ruined.
Cordelia looked at her. “Don’t you love Julian? Don’t you want to marry him?”
Olivia blushed and nodded. She’d been in love with Julian since she was little, and she’d always assumed she’d marry him when she grew up.
She’d never imagined that by the time they were grown, they wouldn’t even have dated, let alone that Nora would swoop in and marry him first.
“I do want to,” Olivia said, “but Julian’s in the ER fighting for his life. How could I take advantage of—”
Cordelia cut her off sharply. “Do you still want to marry Julian or not?”
Olivia pressed her lips together, her face red, and nodded. “Yes, I do! More than anything!”
She had everything now. She had a top-notch education, power, fame, and money. The only thing missing was love. She’d loved Julian for as long as she could remember, and if she couldn’t marry him, she’d regret it for the rest of her life.
Cordelia lectured her. “I’ve been teaching you this since you were little. If you want something, go after it. Only the result matters, not how you get there. Even if you only have him once, you still had him.
“And don’t give me that schoolgirl nonsense about how it’s pointless to have him if you can’t have his heart. Who cares whether he loves you? As long as he’s yours, that’s enough!”
“And one more thing!” Cordelia went cold, her voice heavy. “If you can’t have him no matter what you do, then destroy him!”
If Olivia couldn’t have something, she was supposed to destroy it rather than let an enemy have it. That way, nobody got it, everyone ended up even, and there was no winner or loser. That was the lesson Cordelia had drilled into her from childhood.
Olivia hadn’t heard Cordelia talk like that since she was a little girl, and hearing it again so suddenly startled her. For a moment, the warm, loving Cordelia she knew seemed to turn into someone vicious and ugly.
Just then, someone knocked on the car window.
Cordelia relaxed her expression. “Understand?”
Olivia nodded. “I understand, Grandma.”
