Reborn to Dodge the Bad Marriage novel Chapter 261

Chapter 261 Make Her Beg

Finished

When Sienna got into the car, she looked up and found Cordelia sitting inside. “Dr. Blithe? What are you doing here?” she asked, startled. “Aren’t you supposed to be in surgery at the hospital?”

She even glanced out the window, half suspicious, just to make sure they were at the airport and nut the hospital.

Cordelia gave her a kind smile. “I just got out. Olivia’s flight is about to land, and she’s been the one handling Julian’s treatment.

“So I came here first. We need to talk through how we’re going to save him”

As she spoke, she rolled her shoulders and stretched out her arm, looking worn out.

Sienna noticed how much grayer Cordelia’s hair had gotten and how tired she looked, and she was touched. “Dr. Blithe, you’re too good to us. You’ve been operating for hours, you must be exhausted, and you still came all the way out here to go over things with Olivia.

“You could’ve just gone to the hospital. We’d have rushed straight over and met you there.”

Cordelia was as warm and gentle as ever. “It’s easier to go over this in person. I’m not as young as I used to be, and I’ve just come out of a six- or seven-hour operation. If I ran out of steam halfway through, I could end up doing Julian more harm than good. I’d never forgive myself if I let your family down like that.”

Sienna quickly waved that off. “That’s not going to happen. We all understand, Dr. Blithe. If you and Olivia can’t save Julian, nobody can.”

Cordelia smiled. “Well, now that you’re in the car, let’s get to the hospital.”

The driver climbed in and pulled away at once. As far as Sienna could tell, Cordelia and Olivia had been waiting there just for her.

Cordelia turned to Olivia. “Tell me where you are with Julian’s treatment. How’s he doing, and how likely is another attack?”

“The second course is finished, and we’ve started the third,” Olivia said. “He’s gotten about half his sense of taste back, and he doesn’t need needle treatments every day anymore. He just has to take his medicine on time and stay away from anything that might trigger a reaction…”

After that, the conversation turned into a stream of medical jargon. Sienna couldn’t follow a word of it, but that didn’t stop her from resting her chin in her hands and gazing at them in awe.

A little while later, Cordelia’s phone rang. She glanced at Olivia and said pointedly, “It’s your Grandma

Weston.”

Sienna panicked at once. “Why is Grandma calling? Did something happen to Julian? Dr. Blithe, hurry up and answer it!”

Olivia tried to calm her down. “Don’t panic. Nora’s at the hospital, and she’s every bit as good a doctor as I am. Julian will be fine. They might not even need us.”

Chapter 26+ Make Her Beg

Olivia knew exactly how to use the people around her, especially the ones falling over themselves to help.

She wanted Nora to come begging, so she couldn’t be the one to bring it up. That would only hurt her image and her reputation

Sienna, on the other hand, wasn’t the brightest and never thought before she opened her mouth. She was Olivia’s close friend, and she was a Weston. Letting Sienna be the one to make a fuss was the quickest, most effective way to go.

Cordelia answered and rushed to reassure Constance. “Constance, I just got out of surgery a few minutes ago. I’m picking up Olivia at the airport so we can figure out how to save Julian. Don’t worry…”

“I’m not calling to rush you over here,” Constance said, her expression darkening. Cordelia’s words only confirmed what she’d suspected all along.

Cordelia could easily have wrapped up her surgery early and come to the hospital. She was holding out until Nora came to beg her to save Julian’s life. It was a threat, aimed at both Constance and Nora.

Constance was furious, but as long as Julian was still in the ICU, she had to swallow it. “There’s no need to rush over. Finish your surgeries first. Nora got Julian through the worst of it. He’s out of danger for now.”

Cordelia was surprised, but she didn’t believe for a second that Nora was capable of that. Her face soured, and there was an edge in her voice. “So you’re telling me that with Nora there, you don’t need me anymore?”

Until she was sure, Constance didn’t dare burn that bridge. “That’s not what I meant. I just meant you can finish what you’re working on first. There’s no need to rush over.”

Cordelia went cold. “Well, if that’s how you feel, I’ve got surgeries lined up from here to next year. I’m a busy woman. If Nora can save Julian, then you clearly don’t need me. Fine. Olivia and I will go somewhere else. There are plenty of other patients waiting on us.”
