know,” Nora said. “But our company’s machinery and electronics are better quality than the Pierce Group’s, and…”

Joss cut her off. “Mrs. Weston, I’ve already signed a contract with the Pierce Group, and there’s no way we’ll break it. Frankly, Mr. Weston doesn’t seem very committed to this partnership. He walked out halfway through a meeting this time. What about next time?

“I’m sorry, but we can’t take that kind of risk. Maybe we’ll work with the Weston Group another time. Goodbye.”

“Mr. Joss…” Nora said urgently.

But the line had already gone dead.

Nora had expected as much.

She called Miles. “Miles, is Mr. Joss still staying at the Wyndmere?”

“Yes, Mrs. Weston. Do you want me to come pick you up?”

Julian had already told Miles that today, he was to follow Nora’s lead and do whatever he could to land the deal with Joss.

“No need,” Nora said. “Bring the files and the contract and meet me at the Wyndmere.”

Miles didn’t really believe Nora could close the deal, but today, his only job was to follow orders.

At the Wyndmere, Joss had just hung up when Mandy looked at him, her eyes shining. “Mr. Joss, was that Nora Sinclair? Mrs. Weston?”

“Yes,” Joss said. “She wants to reopen talks about the partnership. But we’ve already signed a contract with the Pierce Group, so there’s no point.”

Mandy wanted to laugh. “Working with us is a win-win, Mr. Joss. Our prices are below market, and we provide technical support too.”

She couldn’t believe this deal with Joss had just fallen into her lap.

She’d been so stupid to think Nora might have been reborn too. That was impossible.

The deal with Joss was critical. In her previous life, the Pierce Group had used it to pull even with the Weston Group at the top. After that, with the money and the momentum on its side, it had swallowed up the Weston Group bit by bit.

The more Mandy thought about it, the happier she got. “Mr. Joss, the Pierce Group may not be as big as the Weston Group right now, but we’re stable, Mr. Weston is still in the hospital, and the news says he doesn’t have long to live. If they replace him, who’s going to take on that risk?”

Joss nodded. “Exactly. That’s what we thought too. That’s why I turned Mrs. Weston down.”

Then, he looked at Adrian and gave him a thumbs-up. “You have great taste, Mr. Pierce. Your girlfriend is

Adrian gave his usual polished, gentle smile. “Yes, she’s wonderful.”

Mandy hooked her arm through Adrian’s. “Let’s throw a real celebration this afternoon. Mr. Joss is flying home this evening.”
