Reborn to Dodge the Bad Marriage novel Chapter 310

Chapter 310 Someone Else Called

Harlan bit back his anger. No, no. I’m happy to pay full price!”

He’d already been humiliated enough for one day.

Sienna stood off to the side, hesitating. She wanted to say something, but her dad really had gone too far today. Constance had already been generous by not disowning him completely, so Sienna didn’t dare speak up.

She was also feeling a little down. Olivia hadn’t put in a word for her, and that hurt.

Nora glanced at Sienna and decided that since Sienna had counted her as family, she’d let bygones be bygones.

She turned to Julian. “Go ahead and unfreeze Sienna’s credit card. And give her a little extra spending money.”

Sienna had been moping, but at that, she looked up with a jolt and stared at Nora in shock.

Julian hummed. “Another $100,000?”

Nora raised an eyebrow. “She did pretty well today. Make it $500,000.”

Sienna wasn’t a bad person at heart. She’d just been naive enough to let Olivia use her as a pawn.

She squealed with delight and threw her arms around Nora in a bear hug. “Nora, you’re the best! I’m never going against you again!”

Nora couldn’t handle that much enthusiasm. She gave a strained smile. “It’s just a little extra spending money for this month. After that, it depends on how you behave. You need to start using your head and keep your eyes open.”

Julian stepped in and pulled Sienna away. “Don’t hug Nora. Keep your

distance.”

Sienna couldn’t believe he was jealous of her, of all people. She rolled her eyes. “Like I even want to hug her. I’m only doing it for the money. Anyway, my best friend, my ideal… Um, whatever, I’m really happy.” This wasn’t the time to bring up Olivia.

Everything got moved back in. Some of the furniture had been damaged, and Harlan had to pay more than $10,000,000 for it.

Harlan nearly had a stroke, but he only dared curse Nora in his head. She was a greedy, heartless bloodsucker!

Once Harlan and Sienna left, the main house finally went quiet again.

Constance looked at the pictures on the wall and frowned. “Something seems to be missing.” She turned to Julian. “Don’t you think something’s missing?”

Nora had a great memory. She looked over the pictures on the wall and said with certainty, “Nothing’s missing.”

Julian took the question just as seriously. “No, nothing’s missing. Are you sure you’re not misremembering, Grandma?” Harlan wouldn’t have dared tamper with anything in here.

Constance swatted him on the back, exasperated by how seriously he’d answered. “Nora’s picture is missing! Your wedding photo is missing! Honestly, you big dummy!”

Julian and Nora were both taken aback. Neither of them had seen that coming.

Julian snapped out of it and said quickly, “You’re right. Nora’s picture is missing. Let’s take some right now.”

Nora knew this was about more than just hanging up a picture. It meant Constance was officially accepting her as part of the family.

So she didn’t play coy and turn it down. She only said, “We’re really busy right now, so let’s hold off on the wedding photos. A few casual shots will do.”

“Wedding photos are a big deal,” Julian said. “We can’t rush them. We’ll find time later and do them properly.”

Constance agreed that wedding photos would be too rushed right now. “Then take a few pictures today. Later on, you can find time to make up for everything you skipped.”

She swatted Julian on the back again. “Especially you. Don’t think that just because you two signed the papers, you get to skip the dating, the romance, and the proposal. You’re doing all of it, every last bit.”

Julian looked at Nora with tenderness. “I will. Every last bit.”

While Constance arranged for a photographer, Nora took Count Ansel to the drawing room and had the staff bring out the finest coffee and pastries.

She gave him an apologetic look. “I’m sorry for making you come all this way over something so small.”

Count Ansel looked flustered. “It’s an honor to do anything for you, Ms. Blythe. And I’m looking forward to welcoming you at my castle someday.”

Nora smiled. “When I have time, I’ll definitely come visit.”

Count Ansel was deeply grateful. “I’m only alive today because of you. You and the Master are the greatest blessings of my life.”

Two weeks earlier, Nora had remembered an international news story from her previous life. Count Ansel of Kestria had been thrown from his horse while riding and dragged to death.

So she’d made a point of warning him to be careful if anyone invited him riding, because it would end badly. That warning had saved his life, and that was why he owed her.

Nora was confused. “The Master?” She frowned. “Do you mean Cordelia Blithe?”

As far as Nora knew, Cordelia was the only living woman who’d ever been called the Master.

Count Ansel shook his head. “No, no, not her. I heard the Master had passed away.”
