Chapter 311 A Kiss for the Camera

Nora couldn’t help wondering if it was Constance or Julian, or maybe even Rosalind, her mysterious grandmother.
She wanted to know more about the Master, but Count Ansel didn’t know much himself, and he didn’t say much either.
After about half an hour, Count Ansel got ready to leave. Nora asked him to stay in the city a few more days so she could play host properly, but he had business of his own and was flying home that afternoon.
Nora and Julian walked him out together.
Count Ansel looked at Julian. “You’re a lucky man, Mr. Weston, to have a wife like Ms. Blythe. I envy you.”
Julian slipped an arm around Nora’s waist, every bit the possessive husband. “I know. I must be the luckiest man alive. I still don’t know what I did to deserve her.”
That was laying it on a little thick, and Nora pinched his side, embarrassed.
Count Ansel watched them, then put on a stern face. “Don’t you dare mistreat Ms. Blythe, Mr. Weston. Otherwise, I’ll fly right back and take her away. I know plenty of fine men who’d love a woman like her.”
Julian held Nora even tighter. “Don’t worry. I won’t give you the chance. Besides…”
He looked down at Nora with a slow smile. “She’s the one who gets to boss me around. And if I ever want to have my way with her, I’ll need her permission first.”
The way he said it, and the way he looked at her, sent Nora’s mind somewhere it shouldn’t go. She turned red and gave him another pinch.
Once Count Ansel and John were gone, the main house finally settled down for good.
Constance immediately called them over. “Julian, Nora, come take pictures!”
She was holding a bridal veil. “You haven’t done your wedding photos yet, so let’s make do with a simple veil for now. I looked it up online. Girls care a lot about little touches like this.”
Nora looked at the diamonds stitched into the veil and the obviously expensive fabric. It had to be worth at least $1,000,000, and this was supposed to be the simple version. She stared at Constance, speechless. “You call this making do?”
Julian took the veil and placed it on Nora’s head. “You deserve the very best, so for you, this is making do.” And someday, he’d give her something even better.
The photographer took a few shots of Nora on her own, then a family portrait of her, Julian, and Constance, and finally some couple’s photos of Nora and Julian.
Since the photos would be framed and hung on the wall, they were all elegant and dignified, but they still captured how close the two of them were.
But just as the photographer called for the last shot and pressed the shutter, Julian bent down to kiss Nora,

and in the very same instant, Nora tilted her head up to kiss him. They were perfectly in sync, and the camera caught the whole romantic moment.
Constance was standing off to the side, beaming from ear to ear. She turned to Bess. “Oh my, I’ll be holding a great-grandbaby before long!”
Julian and Nora were so happy together that the whole family felt brighter. If Julian had married someone he didn’t love, the home would’ve been nothing but tension.
As Constance watched them, her desperate obsession with keeping Julian alive at any cost loosened its grip a little.
Nora pretended not to hear the comment about a great-grandbaby. With Julian’s condition, they couldn’t sleep together yet.
Julian told the photographer, “Send me copies of all the photos.”
Nora looked up at him. “Did you have someone contact Count Ansel for help?”
“Hm?” Julian gave her a puzzled look, then shook his head. “No.”
He’d had a backup plan of his own. If Nora hadn’t closed the deal, he would have gotten Douglas Pierce, Adrian’s father and the chairman of the Pierce Group, to back out of the deal and hand it over. As for the Weston family, there was no way he’d ever let Harlan have it.
“I didn’t either. Weren’t you the one who brought in Count Ansel?” Constance asked Nora, just as puzzled. “And why does everyone call you Ms. Blythe? Don’t tell me you’re…”
Constance’s mind was racing. Is she not Victor’s real daughter? Is her real father the one helping her now? And his last name just happens to be Blythe?
Nora nodded. “My grandmother’s last name is Blythe, so that’s the name I go by in public.”
Ever since she’d been reborn, she’d given up on Victor as a father. At one point, she’d even suspected she wasn’t really his daughter.
Still, the alias hadn’t been her grandmother’s idea. In fact, Rosalind didn’t really like her using the name Blythe in public, and Nora had never understood why.
Constance nodded in understanding. “Blythe is a rare name. Come to think of it, I’ve never met your grandmother. When can we all have dinner together?”
Nora would have loved for them to meet, but Rosalind wasn’t too keen on the idea. “Maybe sometime down the road. My grandma’s pretty busy right now.”
Constance saw Nora’s expression cloud over a little and understood at once.
Maybe Rosalind wasn’t happy with the Weston family, or with Julian, and that was why she didn’t want to
