Chapter 313 Mandy Does the Heavy Lifting
Nora watched Mandy put on her little act and raised an eyebrow. “It’s not too late to help now.”

Mandy was afraid Nora would ask her to give up the deal, so she quickly changed the subject. “So you’re moving out of the main house now, Nora?
“I can’t help with the deal anymore, but I can still help you move.”
Nora didn’t answer that directly. Instead, she pointed at the furniture. “Well, if you want to help, you can help move all this. If we wait much longer, it won’t make it over to Havenwood today.”
Mandy looked up at her in surprise. “You’re moving all this furniture to Havenwood?”
Nora nodded. “Yep.”
Wren, Rosalind, and Augusta all lived at Havenwood. The Westons might be getting rid of these pieces, but each one was still worth anywhere from $100,000 to more than $1,000,000. Swapping out the furniture over there would make their place a lot more comfortable.
Mandy assumed that meant Nora and the others were moving off the Weston estate and into Havenwood.
In other words, Julian really wasn’t CEO anymore, and the Weston family really did have a new head. And Harlan, that smug little weasel, had even kicked them off the estate!
When she put it all together, Mandy wanted to throw her head back and laugh, but she didn’t dare with Constance right there. Coming here today had been the best idea ever.
She’d jump at any chance to watch Nora fall flat on her face. “Sure! I’m not busy today, so I’ll help you
move.”
Nora smiled and turned to the staff. “My sister cares about me so much. She’ll take care of the smaller pieces, so you can all go do other things. Tidy up the other rooms. Just leave two people here to move the big furniture.”
Two of the male staff stayed behind to move the sofas and other large pieces, and all the small stuff was left to Mandy.
Mandy hadn’t expected Nora to take her up on it so readily, and she managed a stiff smile. But this was her chance to watch Nora get humiliated, so she happily got to work.
Nora sat in the courtyard and had the staff bring her coffee and pastries. She lounged there without a care in the world, directing Mandy.
“That’s an antique vase. It’s almost 300 years old and worth $2,000,000, so be careful with it. If you break it, you’re paying for it.
“That potted topiary was shaped by hand by a master gardener. It’s worth $1,000,000, so be careful with that too. Put it all the way in the back. And then there’s…”
At first, Mandy was only carrying small things like paintings, so she could manage just fine in her dress and heels.

Finished
But with Nora sitting there giving orders, Mandy was struggling before long. Her heels became impossible, so she kicked them off.
Her white dress was soon smudged with dirt here and there, she was drenched in sweat, and nobody had even offered her a sip of water. Worse still, Nora just sat there sipping coffee and eating fruit, bossing her around like she owned the place.
Mandy’s gloating mood vanished. She was fed up now, and she slammed a potted topiary down. “Come on, Nora, you can’t just leave all of it to me!”
With a sharp crack, a branch snapped off the topiary.
“You’re the one who offered to help. I didn’t beg you to,” Nora said, setting down her cup.
Constance pointed at the topiary, her face dark with anger. “Mandy Sinclair, you broke my topiary! That’s a work of art by a master gardener, and it’s worth $5,000,000! You’re paying for it!”
Mandy shrieked, “$5,000,000? Why don’t you just go rob a bank?”
Constance scoffed. “Robbing you wouldn’t make money half as fast as the Weston family does.”
She wasn’t wrong, and Mandy had no comeback for that.
Nora looked up at Constance, every bit the loving big sister. “Grandma, Mandy is my sister, and she did offer to help. Can’t you go a little easy on her?”
Constance wanted to laugh at the look on Nora’s face, but she played along and softened her expression. “Well, since Nora’s asking, I suppose $3,000,000 will do.”
Mandy was so furious she wanted to scream. They wanted $3,000,000 for one stupid little tree! How dare that old bat gouge me like this?
Nora kept pleading. “Grandma, she doesn’t have that kind of money. How about $2,000,000?”
Constance nodded. “Fine. Whatever you say. You’re in charge around here.”
Mandy saw how Constance doted on Nora, the way a grandmother spoils her favorite grandchild, and she burned with jealousy.
In her previous life, when she’d married into the Weston family, Constance had never once given her the time of day. So why does Nora get all the love?
Then again, Julian wasn’t the CEO of the Weston Group anymore, and he wasn’t head of the family either. Constance was nothing but an old woman with one foot in the grave. With Harlan in charge, the Westons would go bankrupt in no time, and Julian didn’t have long to live anyway.
But she was different. Ace had just taken over two major projects, and he was getting closer and closer to becoming the richest man in the city.
If Nora wanted an easy life from now on, she’d be the one coming to Mandy for favors. There was no reason to be afraid of any of them.
