Reborn to Dodge the Bad Marriage novel Chapter 93

Chapter 93 Whoever She Points At

Finished

Sinna stamped her foot in fury, and in the end she was too afraid of Nora to go another round with her.

“Sienna, what is going on? What is she to Mr. Weston?”

“She’s awfully sure of herself, calling herself his wife like that. Is she actually married to him?”

“Married or not, Mr. Weston and Miss Blithe never dated in all these years. There was never so much as a rumor. That doesn’t make her the other woman.”

At least one of them had her head on straight and hadn’t swallowed the story whole.

Sienna shot her a look and made a face. “My grandmother likes her and so does my brother. I don’t, and I’m not calling her anything.

“They’ll split up sooner or later. Olivia is the only woman I’ll ever call family.

“No. I’m not swallowing this today.

“Help me think of something. She needs putting in her place.”

Nora went back to Wren, saw the worry all over her, and waved it off. “It’s handled. Pick out one you like, and once it’s paid for we’ll go eat and then head back to the apartment.”

Wren was still uneasy, but Nora clearly wasn’t taking no for an answer, so she stopped arguing.

“Okay.” She barely browsed at all, just pointed at a white messenger bag on the nearest display. “This one.”

The white was soft and elegant, and it suited her.

“Good choice.” Nora reached for it, and her hand never got there.

Sienna had already flattened her palm on top of it. “I saw this one first, Nora. Go find another one. Or since you’re feeling so generous, why don’t you buy me one too?”

Nora looked at her, then at the three friends behind her, all of them ready for blood.

The whole setup was there to fight her over a handbag.

She raised her brows and laughed. “I have money. That doesn’t make me a sucker who buys bags for idiots.”

The insult rolled off Sienna, who only smirked at her. “What’s the matter? Were you planning on my brother paying for it? Can’t afford it without his money, is that it?”

Wren could see Sienna wasn’t someone to provoke, and she was afraid of what it would cost Nora at home.

She tugged on her arm. “I don’t like that one anymore. Let’s look at something else.”

“Sure.”

Nora walked her farther down the display, and Wren pointed out a smaller bag in slate gray, elegant and quiet.

Before Nora could open her mouth, Sienna lifted her chin. “I’ll take that one too. Paige, it’s yours. It’s perfect

you.”

Paige lit up beside her. “Thank you, Sienna.”

That bag cost $300,000.

Wren wanted no part of a scene, and she pulled at Nora again. “Nora, forget the bag. Let’s go cat.”

Watching her back down put Sienna on top of the world, and she looked straight at Nora, daring her.

She had finally gotten some of her own back.

Nora laughed softly. “Three friends and you only buy a bag for one of them. I suppose the other two don’t count.”

It was a wedge, and she drove it in cleanly.

Sienna sniffed and turned to Brooke. “The white one is yours.

“Pick out another one for Lacey.”

Nora smiled without a word and reached for a red bag.

Sienna beat her to it again, lifted it away, waved the sales associate over, and handed across a credit card. “Wrap all three and put them on this.”

Then, she turned back to Nora. “And bring the rest of your staff over. Every bag she looks at, every bag she touches, I want it. Don’t ask, just wrap them and ring it all up together!”

The sales associate lived for scenes like this, since her numbers climbed without her having to say a word.

Nora let her shoulders drop. “Deep pockets. Without Julian’s money I really can’t compete with you.”

Watching her fold was the sweetest thing Sienna had felt all week. “Then say it. Apologize to me, and apologize to Olivia while you’re at it!”

“I…”

Wren opened her mouth to apologize on Nora’s behalf, and Nora caught her arm before she got any further.

“Keep looking,” Nora said.

She leaned in close to Wren’s car and said something meant for the two of them alone.

Wren stared at her, then nodded to show she understood.

Sienna couldn’t hear a word of it, and something about it worried her enough to raise her voice. “Are you buying or not? If you’re not, then apologize. I’m generous. I won’t hold it against you.”

“I’m buying,” Nora said. “Let her choose. Whatever she picks, I’ll buy.”
