Chapter 95 Clearing Out the Stock
Afour of them stood there staring at the number.
Sienna handled it best, since she owned bags worth more than $1,000,000 herself.
Still, spending that much on that many handbags left her feeling like the biggest sucker in the building
Worse, the money had come out of her three friends’ pockets, and every bag was a gift to her
Paige talked herself down out loud. “It’s fine, it’s fine. Split three ways it’s only a bit over $2,000,000 each. That’s not so much.”
“Right, $2,000,000 is nothing, and we can carry a different bag every day of the month. That’s good value
“What matters is that Sienna is happy. We couldn’t let somebody push her around.”
Split three ways it really wasn’t so terrible, only about $2,000,000 apiece, and all of them could live with
that.
Sienna felt awkward about it too. “I can’t carry this many bags anyway. We’ll divide them up later, and you can pass some along to other friends.”
That made all of them feel better about it.
Nora watched the four of them, then walked over to Sienna. “Thank you, Sienna. Bringing your friends into my store and clearing out my stock at full price was very good of you.”
Sienna had only just started to feel better, and her face came apart all over again. “What the hell does that mean? Your store?”
Nora smiled. “This store is mine. And every one of those bags is an old line nobody wants, the kind of thing women twice our age go for.”
Her smile got brighter. “So thank you. You had your friends foot the bill and made me a fortune.”
The associate came over with a beautifully wrapped box finished with a silk ribbon and handed it to Nora. “A gift from us, our most popular piece this season. We hope to see you again soon.”
She would happily take another scene exactly like this one, since one afternoon of it covered a year’s quota.
Customers like that were a gift.
Sienna’s face collapsed completely. “Nora!”
Nora smiled at her. “Next time you have friends like these, Sienna, bring them in. I’ll play along again. Now I have to run. Bye!”
Sienna watched her walk off looking thoroughly pleased with herself, having turned three friends against her in the process.
Her teeth ground together. “Nora, you wait!”

Chapter 95 Clearing Out the Stock
Fin Red
Out on the concourse, with the boutique behind them, Wren turned to her. “Is that store really yours?”
nodded. “Not yet. The deal is in progress, and it’ll be in my name soon.”
“Is that safe, though?” Wren asked. “Going after Sienna like that? Won’t Julian and his grandmother hold it against you? The whole family?”
Wren was still worried for her. The scene had felt good, and she was afraid of what waited at home.
At the end of the day, the Westons were one family and Nora had married in only weeks ago which made her the outsider.
Nora had no doubts at all. “They won’t. Sienna is the one getting a lecture when she gets home. Right now she has three friends looking at her sideways, and I expect that little friendship is sinking as we speak.”
What Nora had whispered to Wren earlier was simple enough. She had told her to point at the ugliest, most dated, least practical bags in the store.
Most of them were cheap, with an expensive piece slipped in here and there. By the end, Sienna was too pleased with herself to check anything, and the staff were chasing their commissions.
Whatever the two of them looked at came off the shelf and went into a box.
Sienna was far too proud to back out once a bag was wrapped.
Sienna’s money was Weston money either way, so spending it to make a point would only have moved cash from one family pocket to another.
So Nora had spent that half hour on her phone arranging the freeze, which left Sienna’s cards dead and her three friends holding the bill.
It cost Nora nothing, it humiliated all four of them, and it left them eyeing each other with the friendship taking on water.
Nora was thrilled with herself.
Wren thought it was beautiful, and she looked at her with something close to awe. “Nora, you’re incredible. You didn’t swallow a single thing.”
Nora walked her through it. “So take notes. That’s called letting somebody else do your dirty work, and splitting them up while you do it.
“You can’t be such a doormat. The more slack you give some people, the more they take. Understand?”
Wren had never had Nora’s nerve. Her family had been poor, with nothing like Sinclair money.
When she was small, her father had pushed her to keep the two Sinclair girls happy, and she had never gotten on with Mandy, though she and Nora had always been close.
Later on, everything changed, and the gap between their lives only widened.
Nora saw the silence and hooked an arm through hers. “Be braver. You have me behind you now.
“Once you’ve rested up, we’re both going back to work. Be good at something and have your own money.
