Reborn to Get the Alpha She Rejected novel Chapter 10

Chapter 10 The Boy Called Leo

That night, Leander came home.

He reeked of fruit wine. His steps were unsteady, and it was obvious he’d had way too much to drink.

He shoved the bedroom door open and lunged straight at me. Before I could react, we both crashed onto the soft fur rug. His chest pressed against my back, and his warm breath spilled across the nape of my neck.

“You’re drunk. Let me go make you something to sober up.”

I tried to push him off, but an alpha’s strength was on a completely different level. He didn’t budge.

His hands started working on his own clothes. Those possessive eyes never left my face.

It hit me all at once. He wasn’t drunk at all.

“Leander, think about what you’re doing. We’re partners. Mates in name only. You don’t get to touch me!”

He clamped a hand over my mouth and whispered in my ear. “Name only or not, you’re still my mate. The future luna of Bluemoon Pack. And I’ll touch you if I want.”

I shoved him off. “Then let’s end this. Right here, right now. I want out of the mating contract. I’ve saved enough money. I don’t need you anymore!”

The room went dead silent. Leander’s face darkened. “I knew it. I knew you’d leave me.”

He let go of me as he said it. Something in his expression cracked. He looked almost hurt. “Mia, you’re heartless, you know that? Have you really forgotten me completely?”

“What are you talking about?” I stared at him, confused.

“Do you remember Leo?” he asked.

The name dragged me back to a memory I hadn’t thought about in years. The youth train. S camp, when we were kids.

There was a boy with long hair who always wore a mask over his face.

The other kids mocked him constantly, calling him a weak little omega.

Even back then, I was tougher than most kids my age. I couldn’t stand watching people pick on someone weaker. So I stepped in, chased off the bullies, and pulled him into the woods behind the camp, where it was quiet.

“You can’t let them walk all over you like that. You gotta learn to stand up for yourself.”

He slowly looked up at me and pulled down his mask. “Thanks. I was just trying to grow out hair so I could donate it to my aunt. She got hit with a blood curse. Lost all her hair from the injuries.”
