Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 118

Upon hearing the door open, Cecilia jumped as if startled, quickly turning off her phone and shoving it under the blanket.

By the time she looked up, she had already put on that pitiful, delicate smile.

"Sean, you came."

Despite her guilty conscience, Cecilia kept smiling.

Sean didn't seem to notice her unusual behavior, or perhaps he simply never considered that she could ever be up to something.

To him, Cecilia would always be that pure, kind woman who needed his protection.

When he reached her bedside, he habitually checked the readings on the monitors. "How are you feeling today?"

Cecilia softly said, "I feel fine. Just a little weak."

Sean gently tucked her in, thinking that Cecilia was always so considerate and easy to care for.

When he didn't seem intent on leaving, Cecilia thought for a moment and said, "Sean, I want to rest now. You should get back to what you're doing. You don't have to keep me company."

"This has to be fake. It's just way too ridiculous. How could they claim this without any evidence?"

"Don't be naive. I've always thought that Annie was trouble. Besides, that plagiarism scandal was never properly cleared up."

"I've been Ms. Monroe's fan for ten years, and I can guarantee that she's never had beef with anyone! Who is this Annie, and why is she after Ms. Monroe?"

"Wait! I think Maeve really didn't attend the red carpet event today. Official posts say that she's unwell!"

"Holy crap! My friend spotted Maeve's manager, Ms. Brown, crying her eyes out at Jynston General Hospital! Can this actually be true?"

Accounts that claimed to know the inside story chimed in, adding fuel to the fire. The speed at which the situation escalated far exceeded everyone's expectations.

At the top floor of Parker Group, in the CEO's office, Michael was holding a digital tablet, its screen clearly displaying the eye-catching post.

Cold sweat beaded his forehead. "Mr. Parker, this is…"
