Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 158

Annie froze for a moment. She didn't expect it to go so smoothly.

Although Linda's expression puzzled her, she didn't dwell on it. She just thanked her and left.

After all, the wedding was just for show—it didn't need to be a grand production.

On Christian's side, his parents were divorced, and his grandfather was abroad, leaving no relatives who needed to attend. As for Annie's side, apart from Irene, she didn't want to involve too many relatives.

First, it would be a hassle. Second, if they got divorced later, it would be hard to explain to everyone.

However, a wedding needed guests to look legitimate.

Annie thought about it for a while, and a specific person crossed her mind.

As such, she went to Maeve's studio.

Maeve was semi-retired and focused on her pregnancy, but years in the entertainment industry had left her with an extensive network.

Maeve was pleasantly surprised to see Annie and immediately had someone serve her coffee. She asked, "Annie, what brings you here?"

Annie smiled shyly. Not beating around the bush, she explained her purpose directly.

She didn't mention that it was a fake marriage. She only said her relatives couldn't make it, so she asked Maeve to find some extras to act as guests and fill the room.

After listening to Annie's request, Maeve laughed and said, "I thought it was something major. No problem."

She turned to Amelia beside her and gave instructions. "Ms. Brown, please arrange this. Find some people who are reliable and sharp."

Amelia nodded immediately. "No problem. Leave it to me."

With the matter taken care of, Annie sighed in relief and looked at Maeve gratefully. "Maeve, thank you so much."

"No problem." Maeve waved her hand, then added, her smile sincere, "Happy wedding, Annie."

She touched her baby bump and continued with a trace of regret, "Since I'm pregnant, the doctor won't let me run around. I won't be able to attend your wedding in person, but I'll definitely send a gift."

"There's no need for that, Maeve. I am already grateful for your help," Annie said quickly. They exchanged a few more pleasantries before Annie stood up to leave.

After Annie left, only Maeve and Amelia remained in the studio.

"Since Grandma will be attending, I was afraid the place would look empty with too few people. She might get suspicious or feel uncomfortable."

Christian listened in silence. Whatever Annie wanted, he would support it. He wouldn't merely hire actors—if she wanted the stars in the sky, he would find a way to give them to her.

Moreover, to him, this wedding wasn't just an act. It didn't matter who those irrelevant guests were.

The important thing was that Annie was the bride.

He nodded slightly and said, "Whatever you say, Ann."

Annie nodded, completely missing the affection and indulgence hidden in his words. She simply thought he agreed with her arrangement and felt relieved. She said, "That's good. This way, it'll look more like the real thing."

After finishing her words, Annie stood and went to her room. She closed the door softly, leaned back against it, and let out a long breath. Another major issue had finally been resolved.

Annie took out her phone, her fingertips sliding unconsciously across the screen. The light from the screen illuminated her somewhat dazed face.

She opened her contacts and slowly scrolled down. Finally, her finger stopped on two names she had not called in a long time.

It was her parents.
