Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 202

Easton steered his wheelchair a little closer.

"I sent Sean overseas back then and cut off every path he could've taken to come back. But he showed up anyway, and he didn't come alone. He came back with a shady group in tow," he said flatly, as if he were describing something that had nothing to do with him.

He continued, "I've been thinking about it for days." Easton paused, his eyes drifting to Annie's clenched jaw.

"The only way he could've bounced back that quickly was by teaming up with local gangs. He must've offered them something in return for their support."

Annie listened without interrupting, but her fingers curled tighter at her side.

Local gangs?

In his pursuit of her, Sean had begun mingling with people who had nothing left to lose.

Did he have any bottom line at all?

In her past life, for Cecilia's bone marrow, Sean could watch Annie and her baby die on an operating table without batting an eye.

In this life, for pride and revenge, he was willing to bargain with gangsters.

Sean was completely insane.

"I want to ask you for a favor, Ms. Steward," Easton continued. "In return, when the time comes, I'll handle Sean myself."

His tone stayed calm, but the meaning behind his words was brutal. He said, "I'll get rid of Sean for good. You won't have to look over your shoulder again."

Annie froze for a moment.

Get rid of Sean for good?

No one wanted Sean gone more than she did. Still, she snapped back to her senses.

A cold trace of mockery curved her lips.

She knew that Easton only wanted to use her.

The Frost family really were all cut from the same cloth. No matter whether it was Sean or Easton, they were exactly the same—selfish and ruthless.

They all treated her like a pawn they could deploy or discard whenever it suited them.

In their eyes, her only worth was what she could do for them.

She was tired of it. She had no interest in being dragged back into the Frost family's filthy mess. And she had no intention of being used as bait for Sean.

Annie's face slipped back into its familiar calm indifference. She turned and walked away without uttering a single word.

That was her answer.

"Ms. Steward," Easton called, not expecting her to shut him down so decisively. His brows tightened as he tried to speak again.

Before he could say anything, a clear male voice cut in, tight with concern. "Ann."
