Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 62

Sean gripped the wineglass in his hand so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He smashed the wineglass to the floor with a loud crash.

The wineglass shattered, sending glass shards across the floor.

Frustrated, he was convinced that this was merely Annie's tactic to make him turn back and apologize to her.

First, she refused to accept the call. Then, she blocked Quincy's number. It seemed that she had learned to play hard to get like other women.

Sean stood up unsteadily from the couch. His body swayed. When Quincy tried to help him up, Sean shoved him away and walked out of the bar.

He was going to see Annie. He wanted to learn what she was scheming this time.

Sean had barely taken a few steps out of the bar when several black silhouettes appeared and blocked his way. It was a group of burly men with rough, brutish faces.

They didn't say anything. They simply stood before Sean expressionlessly, forming an impenetrable wall.

Sean raised his head and glared at them. "Get lost."

Instead of stepping aside, the men took one step closer to Sean. The leader moved his wrist and cracked his knuckles.

Sean was furious. Without thinking, he threw a punch at him.

The leader easily dodged it and delivered a heavy punch straight to Sean's face, causing him to black out. Pain shot through his nose, and he fell backward. Before he could react, kicks and punches rained down on him.

Sean simply curled up on the ground and protected his head. He couldn't fight back at all.

The group of men didn't hold back at all. They kicked and stomped his stomach and back. It hurt so much that he almost passed out.

Inside the bar, Quincy felt concerned, so he followed Sean out. When he stepped out the door, he saw the group of men beating Sean up in the alley.

"Stop!" Quincy was horrified. Without thinking, he shouted and ran toward them.

"What are you doing? Stop!"

Upon hearing Quincy, the men exchanged glances and stopped. One of them spat at the ground. Then, they turned around and vanished.

Quincy rushed to Sean's side and helped him up. "Sean! Sean, are you okay?"

"Good job." Linda placed the digital tablet back on the desk. She looked at Annie with eyes filled with admiration. "The design concept aligns very well with the brand. I can tell that you put a lot of effort into it."

Coming from someone as strict as Linda, the comment was already high praise. She continued, "However, this is only the first project."

She changed the topic and said, "You still have two more tasks to complete. Finish the final draft for your current task first. Don't be complacent."

Annie nodded. "I understand, Ms. Lopez."

Someone knocked on the door. Linda's assistant, Taylor Anderson, poked her head into the room. She looked unsettled and bothered.

"Ms. Lopez, Maeve Monroe's agent, Amelia Brown, is here. She wants to go over the gown details now."

Linda frowned, and the air seemed to freeze around them. She couldn't believe that it was that annoying woman again!

Last time, Amelia had used Maeve's popularity in the entertainment industry to nitpick Linda's design and make unreasonable requests. In the end, they parted on bad terms, and the project was abandoned.

Linda couldn't believe that Amelia had shown up at her door again.
