The phones in Maeve's studio rang incessantly, filling the space with a nerve-wracking buzz. The staff's faces were lined with stress as they rushed about, the air heavy with tension.
"PR team, how's the press release going?"
"Legal team! When can we send out cease-and-desist letters?"
Amelia stood in the center of the studio, her voice hoarse from shouting. She seemed like she could snap at any moment.
Just then, her assistant ran over and whispered something in her ear. Amelia's expression shifted instantly.
Amelia took a deep breath, forcing down the irritation rising in her chest and making her way to the door.
Christian and Michael followed Amelia, weaving through the chaotic office toward the meeting room deep within the studio.
A door swung open at the corner of the hallway, and a woman stepped out. It was none other than Roxanne.
She kept her head down, looking flustered as if she were desperate to escape the chaos. Just as she looked up, however, she collided head-on with Christian.
When their eyes met, time seemed to freeze. Although Roxanne didn't know who Christian was, his commanding presence made her heart skip a beat.
Roxanne recognized Michael and knew he was the CEO of Parker Group's assistant. There was only one person who could make Michael follow obediently. However, she wondered what the head of Parker Group was doing around here.
Roxanne felt her chest constricting and struggled to breathe.
Christian's gaze swept over her face, his expression unreadable. He knew that Roxanne was Annie's former manager. Roxanne had once teamed up with Cecilia to protect the studio's interests, leaving Annie trapped in a dire situation.
Christian knew that there must be a reason why Roxanne was there. He averted his gaze and shot a sidelong glance at Michael.
Michael caught his signal and nodded subtly. He slowed his pace and fell back a few steps, trailing behind Roxanne as she hurried away in a panic.
Meanwhile, Christian maintained his usual composure and continued alongside Amelia to the meeting room.
In the meeting room, Maeve was sitting on the couch. She looked pale, with bloodshot eyes. She froze for a moment at the sight of Christian.
After all, she didn't expect the head of Parker Group to come to meet her himself.
However, Maeve quickly regained her composure. She knew that he was here for EVL, a brand under Parker Group.
Maeve's fingers gripped the document. She wondered if he was mocking her, suggesting that she had gained attention in such an ignoble way.
When Christian glanced at the subtle shift in her expression, he had a half-smile on his face. "I'm here to discuss a partnership."
He leaned back against the couch confidently. "Parker Group is planning to launch a new children's clothing line. I would like to invite you and your baby to be the global exclusive faces of our brand."
This caused Amelia to suck in a deep breath. She wondered if she had heard him wrongly.
Becoming Parker Group's exclusive global ambassador was the kind of once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that countless A-list stars would give anything for. Yet, he offered it as if it were nothing much.
Maeve froze, and her mind went blank.
Christian continued firmly, "As for the comments online, I have a way to steer it in a positive direction.
"Whether you would like to go against Parker Group and end things messily, or grab this chance to become even more popular, the choice is yours."
His offer was like a golden ticket, powerful enough to catapult her career to new heights.
