Reborn To Stay Away From Him novel Chapter 18

Edmund’s gaze darkened as he grabbed Diana by the hair and slammed her head against the floor.

“You vicious woman, how dare you do so many unforgivable things behind my back? Jesslyn was blessed by fate and didn’t die at all—she was just taken away by Josie!”

“Even if you beat me to death, Josephine will never forgive you! She would rather leave with that little bitch than come back to your side- can’t you see that yet!“.

Diana let out a shrill scream.

She pointed at Josephine’s photo on the table, her eyes vicious.

“She and I were in the same dance troupe. Just because she was some martyr’s widow, everyone liked her and looked after her.”

“Every guy in the whole union had a crush on her! And she even had a childhood sweetheart who was a commander, about to get engaged.”

Her eyes darted about as tears and snot streamed down together.

“Why does she get such a good life? Why do all the good things belong to her alone? I just had to steal what was hers! So what if he was her childhood sweetheart? Wasn’t he still clutched in my hands?”

“Her so–called perfect life–her husband is mine, and her son is mine too!”

“She’s a complete and utter failure!”

Edmund’s grip suddenly tightened as he smashed her head against the floor again and again by her hair.

At first, Diana kept screaming and hurling insults.

But as the blows grew more severe, she began to beg for mercy.

Edmund released her and wiped the blood from his palms with a handkerchief.

“You’re quite satisfied with your life, aren’t you? Then I’ll let you know the price of daring to toy with me.”

He walked over to the phone and called the Regimental HQ.

“Revoke the affidavit of non–prosecution in Diana’s assault case and pursue full accountability immediately. She herself is now evading responsibility and mentally unstable. Have the military psychiatric hospital come and take her away.”

Edmund looked at Diana slumped on the floor and smiled cruelly.

“I’ll make sure she never leaves there for the rest of her life.”

Diana lay on the floor in utter despair.

“No! No! You can’t do this to me!”

She crawled toward Edmund and grabbed at his pant leg, screaming hoarsely, “I gave birth to Stephen for you, after all–how can you treat me like this!”

Edmund had forgotten that Josephine, too, had once been as radiant as spring.

It was for the sake of family and children that she had trapped herself within that small courtyard.

Yet not only had he failed to empathize with her, he had continued to ignore her pain.

Edmund tilted his head back as a single tear slid from the corner of his eye.

“Never.”

Stephen wiped away his tears and burrowed into Edmund’s arms. “Dad, I really know I was wrong. Can I apologize to Mom with you? Can we bring Mom back, please?”

Edmund squatted down and gathered Stephen’s small body into his arms.

Seeing that Stephen’s face was already streaked with tears, the ache in his heart grew even sharper.

“Don’t worry, Steve. I will definitely apologize to your mom and bring her back to us.”

He would surely make Josephine change her mind.

No matter how great the cost.
