Now that she was back, it wasn’t too late.

Jasper looked at his phone and said to Amelia, “My dad’s calling me over. Look around and I’ll come find you later.

”

Amelia nodded, saying, “Go ahead.”

After Jasper left, Amelia continued admiring the exhibition pieces.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out at the entrance.

“Mr. Zephyr is here! Is that his girlfriend next to him?”

Amelia subconsciously turned to look.

Christopher was wearing a black suit, looking as elegant as ever. Nicole stood by his side, donning a blue dress. The patterns and color of her dress matched Christopher’s le.

They looked like they were in couple outfits.

A match made in heaven indeed, Amelia thought derisively

Luke was right behind them. Cloudway Technologies ranked among the best in the industry, so it wasn’t a surprise that he was here.

Someone in the crowd answered the question. “That’s definitely his girlfriend. They’re in matching couple outfits, for goodness’ sake! What a beautiful couple they are.”

Amelia smirked.

When she used to wear matching colors with Christopher in the past, he would always tell her that he didn’t like her doing that. Ever since then, she gave up on the idea of wearing matching couple outfits with him. She thought he didn’t like having someone else wearing something similar to his outfit.

As it turned out, he simply didn’t like her.

She retracted her gaze, ignoring them.

Everything concerning Christopher no longer had anything to do with her.

Amelia continued admiring the exhibition pieces, which included the latest developments, machinery, and systems of the industry.

When her gaze landed on a mini unmanned aerial vehicle running on the first-generation system, she stopped in

her tracks.

She remembered how excited she was when she designed it It perfectly solved the problems in the poor range and cruiseability of unmanned drones, and greatly enhanced their combat capabilities. It was even used in actual combat by the military.

She didn’t expect to see it again here. She reached out, tryin to touch it.

The next second, someone grabbed her hand.

Amelia looked over and saw Nicole’s smiling face right before her.

“Ms. Sinclair, you can’t touch these things. You have no idea how important these items are. Please show some respect to the scientific researchers and the hard work they put into these. What if you destroy them?”

Luke furrowed his brows as he looked at Amelia.

“I can’t believe Jasper brought you to an event like this! I know Langley Group is the main organizer of this summit. You begged him to bring you here, didn’t you? You can’t just touch these things. If you accidentally destroy them, it won’t be just about the money.

“Let me remind you, don’t talk too much here. Everyone here is a top talent in the industry. It’s not like the aerospace exhibition last time, which was open to the public. Be wary of exposing your lack of intellect here.”

“Is this the kind of talent Zephyr Group is capable of producing? Destroying an unmanned combat aerial vehicle with just a mere touch? How advanced are the technologies in our local aerospace field?” Amelia retorted with a smirk.

Luke and Nicole’s faces fell. They were slowly realizing that Amelia was becoming increasingly sharp-tongued these days.

Christopher looked indifferently at her. “Since when did you start knowing about these things?”

Since when?

Amelia scoffed. If he had paid attention to what she had been saying to him, he would have known what she used to do when she was a student.

But all she got from him was endless disregard and snubbing.

Amelia ignored him completely. Unwilling to engage any further with them, she turned to leave.

“Who spoiled her and made her such a brat?” Luke scoffed as he looked at her walking away. “She can’t do anything, but she’s so smug.”

Mr. Stewart wasn’t the only bigshot present at the event today. Even secretaries of national ministers were there,

too.

Amelia was rather taken aback. Why were there so many significant figures here at today’s industry summit? After Mr. Stewart shared about the government policies in this area, he said he had another meeting to rush to and had to leave right away. He was ushered backstage by a few security guards.

That was a clear sign he didn’t want to be suffocated by the crowd eager to get to know him.

Mr. Stewart’s secretary walked by his side and asked solemnly, “Not going to stay for a while? What if the person you’re looking for is around…”

Mr. Stewart shook his head. “Even if he were, he might not make an appearance today.”
