Chapter 106
The moment Amelia hung up, she made a move to leave.
Just then, Nicole caught up with her and stopped her from leaving. She was still holding onto a cup of hot tea.
“I saw you standing here for a long time. Are you looking for Chris? Have some tea. Don’t get heatstroke.”
Amelia saw the steam rising from the hot tea and wondered how hot the tea was. Was Nicole trying to scald her to death?
Amelia looked at her and said coldly, “We’re not that close. You don’t have to keep coming to talk to me each time you see me.”
It truly disgusted her.
She turned to leave right after saying so.
Nicole said, “Because you haven’t been going home, I’ve been taking care of Nathan these few days. He said he really misses you and wants to have his favorite prawns you always cook for him. Can you teach me how to prepare them?”
Amelia stopped in her tracks.
She knew what Nicole meant by that. Nicole wanted to tell her that she was able to come and go freely as she pleased in her marital home.
Of course, Amelia knew that the passcode to the door was changed, and even their wedding photo in the master bedroom was taken down. Nicole even changed out their bedsheets.
Nicole was trying to erase all traces of her.
“Can you teach me how, please?” Nicole asked again upon Hearing no response from Amelia. “Nathan had an allergic outbreak the last time, and I’m still traumatized by it. I realized I still don’t really know Nathan very well and need to ask you for advice. You can just find me at home. You’re welcome anytime.”
She was welcome anytime?
Amelia smirked.
Nicole was referring to their home as though it were hers and Christopher’s.
“You’ve taken care of Nathan for so long, I’m sure you adore and have feelings for him. You won’t just ignore him, will you?” Nicole asked.
Amelia smiled. Was Nicole trying to emotionally blackmail her? She wasn’t falling for it.
She said flatly, “If you really treated Nathan as your son, you wouldn’t have abandoned him and left the moment you gave birth to him in pursuit of name and fame. And now you’re back to take over Nathan in preparation to eventually be Mrs. Zephyr, right?”
The look on Nicole’s face froze.
Amelia was so harsh with her words!
“You’re always misunderstanding things between Chris and me,” Nicole said, trying to clear the air. “I told you that Chris and I are just brothers who grew up together. Why do you always think about us in this way? Have some tea.”
She sighed.

“Since your misunderstanding toward us runs so deep, I want to take this chance today to have a good chat with you.”
Amelia’s face turned cold. She didn’t have the time and wasn’t in the mood to sit down and have a nice chat with
Nicole.
She turned to leave, but Nicole tried to stop her by stretching out her hand that was still holding onto the teacup.
Amelia didn’t expect Nicole to stick her hand out and bumped right into it when she took a step forward.
Crash!
The teacup crashed on the floor and shattered into pieces.
The hot tea splattered on Amelia’s chest, on which she could feel a fiery sensation. Her brows furrowed as she tugged on her collar.
“Ahh!” At the same time, Nicole screamed at the top of her lungs.
“What’s the matter?”
Christopher was just done with his phone call and walked over, his face dark with displeasure.
He brushed past Amelia and noticed Nicole’s scalded hand. The back of her hand was completely red.
“I offered Mrs. Zephyr some tea, but she didn’t want it…” Nicole went on, “It’s fine, my skin is thick and can tolerate the pain. Go check on Mrs. Zephyr and see if she’s fine.”
Christopher ignored Amelia. “Let me bring you to the hospital to get it treated.”
He then turned to look coldly at Amelia, which sent a shiver down her spine. He was clearly blaming her for scalding Nicole.
Amelia felt a sudden urge to laugh as she saw Christopher Hurriedly bring Nicole away from the scene.
From the start to the end, Christopher treated her as though she were invisible. He didn’t even spare her a glance and simply concluded that she was in the wrong and that she had hurt Nicole without even clarifying what happened.
Look, she told herself. A man who doesn’t love you would always think that you’re in the wrong.
