Chapter 123

Amelia remained silent, but it didn’t stop Nicole from going on, “I intend to buy a spot in Zone B.”

Amelia’s face turned dark.

That was the zone her maternal grandmother was in.

Tania was the third party in her mother’s marriage. Burying her mother and maternal grandmother in the same zone of the same grave site was an insult.

Even she couldn’t stand the thought of it, and she shuddered to think about how angry Felix and Claire would be upon finding out about this.

Christopher was really giving in way too much to Nicole.

Amelia’s grip tightened over the water bottle. Even her fingers were trembling. She took a deep breath and looked coldly at Christopher.

“If you allow her to shift her maternal grandmother’s grave over, I’ll let everyone see how, despite how glamorous and innocent she looks, she abandoned her son for the sake of personal gain. Would the Zephyrs still accept Nathan if he turned out to be an illegitimate son?”

The look on Nicole’s face changed as her brows furrowed tight. “Mrs. Zephyr, isn’t Nathan your son? How could you say something like that? You raised him for so many years. Are you going to destroy him just like that?”

Her son?

Amelia found Nicole’s words laughable.

“Don’t call me that,” Amelia said as she looked coldly at Nicole. “The worst decision I’ve ever made was to adopt Nathan!”

In this new life, she wanted to focus on building her career and giving her daughter the best.

She wanted a clean break from Christopher and didn’t want to be bogged down by such misery. Yet, they kept pestering her and pulling her back.

Christopher looked calmly at Amelia.

A long while later, he retracted his gaze and turned to look at Nicole. “I’ll find a better place for your grandmother’s grave.”

He decided to make a compromise.

At the end of the day, it was still for the sake of protecting Nicole and her son’s reputation.

Amelia’s lips turned pale, finding what she had done in the past a complete joke.

“That’s fine too,” Nicole said as she pursed her lips. “I also think the vibe in that place isn’t quite right.”

She suddenly realized something and corrected herself, “Pase don’t be mad, Mrs. Zephyr. I didn’t mean to say that your grandmother’s grave site isn’t good…”

Amelia ignored her and said coldly to Christopher, “It’s potless to drag things out. Please deal with it as soon as you can.” (1

He probably understood what she was referring to.

She had mentioned it multiple times.

After Amelia left, Nicole looked at Christopher and asked, s Mrs. Zephyr angry again? Do you need to cajole her? I really don’t know what women like her get mad over. It’s way too difficult being a man. I truly sympathize with you.”

Christopher looked at Amelia’s back view before retracting his gaze. He then walked toward his car without a single word.

Amelia’s face was dark with displeasure when she headed back.

Winona asked with concern, “What’s the matter? Do you feel unwell?”

Amelia took a deep breath and shook her head. “I’m fine.”

She was haunted by a ghost, and her mood was inevitably affected.

“Mom,” Evelyn said as she jumped into her arms. “Great-grandma said that the souvenir she had custom-made for me overseas is almost here. When it gets delivered, could you help me get it, please?”

Evelyn pleaded, her eyes blinking innocently at Amelia.

Amelia remembered that her daughter loved collecting blind boxes and souvenirs from overseas. The item was made even rarer, especially since it was custom-made.

Evelyn didn’t have many toys to begin with, as most of her toys were given to Nathan. She mostly played with toys she made herself.

Now that she had a gift coming, Amelia didn’t want to be a wet blanket and spoil her fun.

“Sure, I’ll get it for you when it comes.”

“Yay!” Evelyn jumped for joy, her eyes twinkling.
