Those eyes that resembled Christopher’s were filled with innocence and joy. It stood in stark contrast to the coldness and distance in Christopher’s eyes.

Amelia hugged Evelyn tight. In this life, she would never neglect her daughter.

At the dinner after visiting the grave, Christopher didn’t turn up, saying that he was not free.

Dorothy was livid. She swore that when she went back, she would teach him a lesson for being so rude and disregarding the occasion.

After the dinner, as Dorothy made her way into her car, she said to Amelia while holding her hands affectionately, “Remember to take the souvenir to Evelyn. I know the family is biased toward Nathan, but you’ve got to care for Evelyn’s feelings. Don’t keep giving in to Nathan. He’s a boy, and there’s no need to spoil him. He already has Christopher and Lucia doting on him.”

Dorothy knew how much Amelia had done for Nathan.

In Amelia’s past life, she saw how pitiful Nathan was without both parents and decided to take care of him. The fact that he turned out to be Nicole’s son was a complete joke.

She had raised an ingrate.

Amelia took a deep breath and nodded. “Got it, Grandma.”

Even Dorothy could tell how well she treated Nathan, while others turned a blind eye to it.

She accompanied Claire in sending Felix back to the hospital, where the doctor reassured them that he was in stable condition.

After settling Felix down, Amelia headed home, staring out of the window, deep in thought throughout the journey. She remained silent and didn’t say a word.

Midway through, she pulled her phone out to text Cyrus.

[Mr. Nelson, can we accelerate the divorce proceedings?]

The summons was sent to Christopher’s office after she appealed for a divorce. A confirmation of submission was supposed to be sent within 15 working days.

Amelia was beginning to realize how long 15 working days felt. There was still one week till the deadline. Cyrus’ reply came quickly. [You can’t rush it. I’ll try to hasten things once the hearing begins.]

An excellent lawyer would be able to conclude the first instance.

Amelia exhaled sharply as she turned to look out the window again.

Forget it, she told herself. It was just one more week.

Right after Amelia enhanced the system and secured the patent, she was now making a huge leap forward.

Amelia wanted to bid on government tenders for this project. She wanted to collaborate with the government and push Nova Nine to the forefront of the industry.

Working all the way till lunchtime, she stretched out her sore muscle and glanced at her phone. That was when she noticed a couple of notifications on her screen.

One headline caught her attention.

“ACE Technologies leads in AI technology advancements!”

Amelia’s brows furrowed as she clicked on it.

ACE Technologies was backed by Infotech Group, and they managed to clinch several major projects at one go. They even managed to secure the bid for the project on AI medical assistants.

She smirked and closed the tab.

Christopher was really going all out to assist Nicole, both for her and her family.

Amelia called her mother and told her to compose herself and focus on her own research and project.
