Christopher answered the call and said something. He stare at Amelia’s back and said, “Okay, got it.”
After ending the call, he caught up with Amelia and lifted a hand to call for his driver, who was waiting outside.
He turned to look at Amelia, the look on his face unchanging.
“I’m sorry, I have something to attend to, but my driver can send you back.”
Amelia smirked. She knew that as long as Nicole needed his help, he would rush to her without fail, regardless of whatever promise he might have made to her.
Anyway, she never intended for him to send her home.
After Amelia left, Christopher turned and walked back into the living room. He looked at the broken pieces on the floor with a stern expression.
Nathan stood by his side, not daring to say a word as he looked fearfully at his dad.
“You smashed it to pieces?”
Nathan put his hands behind his back and lowered his head. “No… I wanted to give it to her, but it dropped by accident. She didn’t hold it well and dropped it, and it smashed to pieces. How could you blame me for that?”
Christopher turned to look at Anna. “Bring Nathan upstairs to my study to reflect on his mistakes. Aside from going to school, he’s not allowed to go anywhere, have any snacks, or play with any toys until he realizes his mistake.”
Nathan opened his mouth and burst into tears. Fat drops of tears streamed down his face.
“I want Mom! I want my mom Nicole! All of you are bullying me!”
Christopher ignored Nathan’s cries and turned to walk toward his study.
Anna did as Christopher commanded and brought Nathan to the study.
She knew that he was trying to discipline his child. Nathan was set to be the future heir of Zephyr Group, after all. Having a hot temper and lying were naturally bad habits he had to kick.
As for Mrs. Zephyr…
Anna had never seen Mr. Zephyr show any concern for Mrs. Zephyr.
Mrs. Zephyr was clearly having a temperature, and Mr. Zephyr didn’t even stop her from leaving.
She sighed. Ever since Mrs. Zephyr left the house, Nathan had become increasingly wild, and all his bad habits were rearing their ugly heads.
Nathan was locked up in the study for just one day, and he could barely take it. He finally relented and stopped trying to defend himself.
Upon finding out what had happened, Nicole went to their ome and carried Nathan out of the study, her heart aching for him. She walked straight into the study without my hesitation.
Anna saw Nicole go straight into the study, which even Mrs Zephyr was unable to enter and leave as she pleased.

Only Ms. Randall had the privilege to do that.
That proved how important Ms. Randall was to Mr. Zephyr.
In the study, Christopher was busy poring through some documents.
Nicole walked over to him. “Chris, Nathan is still young. You can’t be so strict with him. It’s enough that he knows his mistake. It’s a bit too much to deprive him of his toys and entertainment.”
Christopher glanced at Nicole and remarked, “A kind mother spoils her child.”
“That means Mrs. Zephyr isn’t doing a good job teaching Nathan,” Nicole argued. “You can’t blame a child for an adult’s mistake. Hand Nathan to me. I’ll teach him well.”
Amelia returned home in the rain. By the time she walked through the door of her apartment, the lights were all switched off, and Evelyn was already asleep.
She forced herself to take a hot shower despite how weak she was feeling. She swallowed some paracetamol and wrapped herself up in blankets before falling into a deep sleep.
That night, she had a nightmare about the doctors failing to resuscitate Evelyn, who died and left her in her past life. When she woke up, she was covered in cold sweat, and her entire body was trembling.
Looking around at the empty and dark room, she threw back the covers and rushed to her daughter’s room. She only felt relieved when she saw Evelyn’s peaceful, sleeping face.
She hugged Evelyn tight in her arms as tears streamed down her face.
She feared the possibility that she didn’t get a second chance in life, that this was all a dream, and that when she woke up, she would find that Evelyn had left her after all…
Amelia had a fever for over two consecutive days, and she had to ask for time off work. During these two days, Claire took care of Evelyn.
Winona came over to visit Amelia. She said to Amelia with frown, “You were perfectly fine during your grandmother’s death anniversary event. How did you end up like this?”
“How is the project going?” Amelia asked instead.
Winona was on the verge of blowing her top. “I’m showing concern for your health, and here you are, asking me about work?”
