Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 135

Chapter 135

Christopher looked up and glanced at her. He put his pen down and leaned back against his chair. “Sure. Have a seat.”

Amelia entered his office, but didn’t sit down.

Over the years they were married, Amelia had always been the one initiating the conversation with him and trying to get closer to him. He might be cold and distant, but at least he was always willing to listen quietly.

As for whether he took what she said to heart, she would never know.

“What is it?”

Amelia looked straight into his eyes and said, “My grandmother’s ceramic vase cannot be used and buried as an offering.”

She didn’t know if Christopher was aware of the grudge between Tania and her mother, Claire.

Before her grandmother died, Tania had already come between her parents’ marriage. Back then, both families were in chaos over their affair.

Even if he didn’t know the details, he surely had a vague idea about what happened.

Christopher looked up at her for a few seconds before asking, “Your grandmother?”

Amelia clenched her fists.

She then smirked.

He didn’t even remember her grandmother’s name.

What else was she expecting? He never cared much about anything related to her, not to mention her family.

Christopher looked down and capped his pen.

He quickly concluded, “So you mind it very much.”

This was exceptionally important to Amelia. Using her grandmother’s art piece as an offering to Nicole’s grandmother was considered a humiliation, especially given the tense relationship between both families.

Amelia said, “I can buy it off you at the same price you paid!”

They had bought her grandmother’s ceramic vase.

Amelia technically had no right to demand it from them. The only way was for her to buy it from them, but she had to get his permission first. She didn’t want to rush things, but had no choice when she overheard their conversation just now.

“You can put forth other conditions if you have any. I’ll be willing…

“Sure,” Christopher said almost readily. “Take it if you like it.”

Amelia stood stunned.

She used to make demands of him, such as asking him to foch her or give her gifts. He was cold to her, but he usually agreed to it. It wasn’t until Nicole’s return that she new that she had to give way to his childhood sweetheart.

Nicole had wanted this ceramic vase, and Christopher had bought it straight away to give it to her.

Chapter 135

Since this ceramic vase was for Nicole, Amelia didn’t expect him to agree to her request so readily.

Christopher looked back at her. “Is there anything else?”

“What do you want in exchange…?”

“I’ll be going on a business trip with Nicole tomorrow. Go back to our home and take care of Nathan,” Christopher said. “The vase will be in the master bedroom, so just take i

Amelia exhaled long and hard.

He was able to raise a request like that without caring about her feelings, blatantly telling her about going on a business trip with Nicole.

Amelia detested the idea, yet she had no choice but to agree to it.

Meanwhile, Jasper was discussing some technical issues with Nicole, the technical consultant of the company under Infotech Group’s wing. They were deep in discussion

By the time Amelia joined them, the two of them were more or less done.

Luke was with them, listening intently. When he saw Amelia approaching them, the corner of his lips lifted in a smirk.

Nicole was a professional who had a deep understanding of the industry, unlike Amelia, who came through the back door and knew nothing.

No wonder Christopher looked down on Amelia.

Jasper saw Amelia and stood up to welcome her.

Mr. Shea invited them to lunch, but Amelia and the rest rejected his offer.

Luke noticed that Jasper had been very diligent in looking out for Amelia.

He smiled sardonically. Now that Jasper had interacted with Nicole and found out how outstanding she was, how could he still hold Amelia in high regard?
