Amelia was not a hard-hearted person.

She wasn't intending to have much contact with Christopher, but now that something like this had happened, it was only right for her to call and ask how he was out of concern.

However, she eventually chose not to call.

She wasn't being ungrateful. She simply knew clearly what the current situation was. She was nobody to Christopher, and it was clear as day that he had saved the wrong person.

Amelia knew that she was just going to end up embarrassing herself by calling him right now. She wouldn't bother expressing her gratitude when she knew it would be met with cold rebuke.

At the hospital, it was discovered that Nicole only suffered from superficial wounds from the incident.

The core of the impact had landed on Christopher and Amelia.

Amelia had knocked against the railing and twisted her ankle, causing her to be unable to stand up at that moment.

Christopher, on the other hand, was badly injured.

His arm scraped across the edge of the turf, and blood kept flowing out from the deep wound.

Nicole was frightened to see how badly he was injured. She couldn't care less about herself and waited outside the operating theatre for his wounds to be treated.

When he was finally wheeled to the ward, she stepped up to take care of him.

After the Zephyrs fetched Nathan back home, he told them everything that had happened through his sobs.

Lucia and Dorothy both called to check on Christopher.

Nicole was very anxious about Christopher's injuries, while Christopher kept trying to assure them that he was fine.

On the other end of the phone, Lucia's face fell upon finding out what had happened, and that her son had to get many stitches for his injuries.

Christopher was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had never suffered anything like this, even in the years he studied abroad.

This was the first time he got so grievously injured that he had to have stitches!

Lucia spat coldly, "What exactly is going on with Amelia? Her own husband is injured, and she doesn't even bother going to the hospital to take care of him? She's getting increasingly out of hand! The wife should submit to the husband, but she's not here taking care of Chris when he's injured. I think Chris is doting on her too much."

Christopher gave her a small smile. "There's no need to panic. I'm not a weak woman."

Dorothy kept looking at him in silence.

After showing her son some concern, Lucia changed the subject to Amelia.

"Instead of staying at home, Amelia brought Evelyn around and even sent Nathan back to us. Does she have something against my grandson? Didn't she give birth to Nathan?"

Lucia started getting furious at the mention of Amelia, who seemed to be increasingly neglecting Nathan.

"Alright now, Lucy," Dorothy said calmly. "Nathan is still at Whitmore Manor. I'm sure you feel more relieved having seen Chris in person. Go back and take care of Nathan, and cook some soup. Have one of the servants send it over to Chris to nourish his body."

Dorothy's words reminded Lucia that Nathan was still at Whitmore Manor. She started worrying about whether the servants were doing a good job taking care of him.

She left Christopher with a few reminders about taking care of himself before leaving.

The moment Lucia left, Dorothy sat in the chair by the bedside.

She looked coldly at Christopher and said, "Now speak. What exactly happened? I heard that Nicole was there too. Am I right?"
