Chapter 192
Caleb arched a brow. “Why not? Especially if there are benefits to gain.”
He was a businessman, and profit was key.
Luke surveyed Caleb from head to toe.
“Nova Nine’s capital injection this time will never bring them success. They don’t even have a complete production chain. Investing in their project is a sure loss. Jasper even dared to involve Amelia in this project. Who does he think is blind enough to join him in his efforts to please and woo a woman? I advise you to think twice.”
Caleb pondered for a moment.
Nicole turned to look at Christopher with a smile. “Chris, you know Ms. Sinclair best. Do you think she really has what it takes?”
Christopher looked leisurely at Amelia and retracted his gaze, pulling the car door open.
“Let’s go back.”
Back at Nova Nine’s office, Jasper flung his documents hard on the table, venting all the frustrations pent up inside him throughout the day.
Someone was clearly targeting him.
With the difficulties they faced in financing, project progress was bound to be impeded.
Since Christopher was bent on putting in a good word for Nicole, he would definitely make sure she triumphed over Amelia in every regard.
Jasper chuckled derisively. “Christopher is clearly pitting himself against us for Nicole’s sake.”
“It’s fine,” Amelia assured him. “Since the project is at stake, I’ll auction my house and invest in it.”
If she could be the sole investor, it would also save them a lot of trouble.
She auctioned her house online.
The property ownership transfer was successful, and their marital home was officially under her name.
Over the next two days, Amelia didn’t receive any expression of interest in the house.
That estate was supposed to be popular, and she was looking for a quick deal by offering a price much lower than the market rate.
By right, it shouldn’t be difficult to attract potential buyers. The real estate agent even said confidently that she would be able to sell it within 24 hours.
Right before she knocked off work, Amelia called her real estate agent.

‘Are there still no potential buyers yet?”
The agent fell silent for a few seconds before saying awkwardly, “Ms. Sinclair, let’s wait a while longer…”
“Is there a problem with the house or something?”
The agent hemmed and hawed, refusing to give her a direct response. He merely said, “I’m afraid it might be tough to sell this house. Did you offend anyone recently?”
Amelia’s eyes turned cold in an instant.
“I got it.”
After hanging up on the agent, a teacher from the kindergarten called.
The moment she answered it, she heard the teacher’s anxious voice.

“Ma’am, your daughter Evelyn got into a fight with Nathan at school. Please come over as soon as you can.”
Amelia’s breath caught in her throat. “Is she hurt?”-
“Not seriously.”
Amelia hung up and ran all the way downstairs. She hailed a cab and sped to the kindergarten.
At the kindergarten, Nathan and Evelyn were at the teacher’s office.
Nathan’s hair was disheveled, and his shirt was sullied.
Evelyn was in an even worse state. There were blood stains on her arm, which shocked Amelia. She immediately wrapped her daughter in her arms.
“Evie! Take her to the sick bay and get her wounds treated!”
Nathan scoffed disdainfully at the sight of Amelia hugging Evelyn.
Amelia carried Evelyn to the sick bay to have her wounds treated.
“Why did you fight with him?”
Evelyn looked down, staring at the floor and not daring to look up at Amelia.
“I scored top in the class, and he accused me of cheating. He even tore my worksheet and accused you of deliberately pushing Aunt Nicole toward the horse so that she and Dad would both be injured.”
