Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 212

Chapter 212

Nicole had probably told Christopher her side of the story. Why was he trying to get her side of the story when his lenses were already colored?

He would never believe whatever she said, anyway.

He was just asking her the question in a bid to speak up for Nicole.

It was the same reason why he bought the marital house back from her.

Christopher looked at her in silence, a cold smirk on his face.

He looked approvingly at how well she seemed to know her place.

Indeed, her answer wasn’t important to him.

What mattered was his effort to interrogate her for Nicole’s sake.

Christopher lowered his head and leisurely rolled up a sleeve as he said casually, “Mia, being emotional never solved problems.”

He then looked back up at her. “See you the day after tomorrow.”

Despite Amelia’s clear stance that she wouldn’t go to the funeral with him, he remained domineering in refusing to take no for an answer.

Amelia smirked coldly.

Being loved often makes one take things for granted.

She used to love him so deeply. That was what caused him to hurt her back so deeply, completely disregarding her feelings and emotions.

Amelia couldn’t be bothered to continue arguing with him. It was truly pointless.

She knew how cold and vicious Christopher could be. He would never regret or turn back on his decisions.

Right now, he had a hold over her with the divorce agreement between them. Whether she struggled against that hold, the eventual outcome would be the same.

She decided not to waste her time and turned to leave without saying anything more.

She didn’t even say goodbye.

Christopher wasn’t too bothered by it and simply thought she was throwing a tantrum.

Meanwhile, Nova Nine’s projects had been progressing smoothly.

Amelia sat next to a window and looked down at the lush greenery downstairs.

The sunshine outside was bright and cheery. Birds chirped excitedly. Rather than finding it bothersome, Amelia found it somewhat relaxing.

“Our projects have been progressing quite smoothly as of late,” Jasper remarked as he walked in with a cup of coffee and sat down before her.

Amelia retracted her gaze from the view outside the window. “Yes, everything’s going pretty well.”

He looked at Amelia as he took a sip of his coffee. “Is this turning out to be the company of your dreams?”

Amelia’s grip subconsciously tightened over the proposal she was holding.

She had dreamed of establishing a research and development company, and held onto that dream even after getting married.

She even brought it up to Christopher.

Christopher said he would give her a company as a birthday gift.

She happily drew up a proposal for the company, detailing the company structure and the kind of projects her company would take on.

Yet, after presenting it to Christopher, he put it aside and told her to just wait.

The last time she saw that proposal was when she last visited the marital home.

Infotech Group was Christopher’s own venture and not Zephyr Group’s. He wanted to establish his own company, too.

Amelia’s proposal was left ignored.

She waited in anticipation for her birthday to come around, hoping to get a reply by then.

However, that proposal seemed to have disappeared. She never saw or heard about it ever again.

“Yeah. It’s the company I imagined it to be,” Amelia finally said with a smile.

However, it would be even better if she had been the one starting the company and watching it grow by herself.

Jasper looked at her. “If this project with the government goes well, we can prepare to be listed next year. We might need to work harder this year to look for investors, though.”

They were very confident about this project, which many people in the industry were aware of.

Caleb had called regarding it, and Christopher even tried to squeeze Nicole into the project team just to boost her resume.

It was clear for all to see how valuable and important this project was.
