Chapter 234
Lincoln was sincere in coming to Northon in person just to sign the contract.
He had always focused his efforts on the southern part of the country.
Amelia lowered her head, looking pensive.
Jasper looked at her and asked, “What? Want to take revenge on Christopher? I’ll work with you to bring down Infotech.”
A war between two strong parties seldom had a clear winner.
Lincoln was impressive, but so was Christopher.
Amelia looked at Jasper. “I just want to have the power to fight back if someone attacks me. Not just to fight back, but to deal them a fatal blow.”

She had had enough of the kind of life she had led in her past life.
Her hopes were dashed, and her heart was dead all the way till she was on her deathbed. Despite all the sacrifices she had made, she was let down.
Now that she had a second chance at life, she had thought things through, especially at the start.
She treaded on thin ice back at the Zephyrs’ household, and was oppressed the moment she asked for a divorce till now.
Amelia knew what power and influence could do.
Nothing was truly reliable in this world. Only if she had power and influence would it mean something. She needed to be a strong pillar of support for Evelyn.
Jasper arched a brow at Amelia’s remark. He turned to look at her and asked, “What’s so difficult about that?”
That wasn’t something impossible for someone like Amelia.
Given her abilities and technical know-how, making a name for herself and rising to power in the industry was only a matter of time.
In fact, if she looked at it from another perspective, she already had all that. She just couldn’t make it public because she worked with confidential organizations.
She merely made a comeback in her career and started her journey from scratch.
It didn’t mean that she started with nothing at all.
Still, there were just some foolish people who kept wanting to compare themselves to her.
Yet, when they end up shooting themselves in the foot, they become upset and go crying and complaining to someone else.

The next day was bright and clear, promising good weather ahead.
Amelia wore a white dress in preparation to meet Mr. Johnson to sign the contract. Jasper was waiting for her at
the door.
Amelia led Evelyn downstairs, preparing to bring her to school.
Jasper was waiting for them at the front of his car, a hand in his pocket.
Evelyn smiled brightly at the sight of him. “Mr. Langley!”
She rushed into his arms.
Jasper caught her and rubbed her head affectionately. “Good morning, my friend.”
“Will you be sending me to school?”
“But of course! I was waiting for you here.”
The smile on Evelyn’s face grew wider.
Jasper would occasionally bring snacks and toys for her, who adored him
very
much.
Amelia was rather surprised. “How early did you arrive? I could have sent her to school by myself.”
“I couldn’t sleep, with that contract we’re supposed to sign today,” Jasper said lightly. “I thought I’d just send her to her kindergarten. Hasn’t she been asking me to send her to school?”
Evelyn clung happily onto Jasper’s arm.
Amelia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “You actually took her words seriously? You’re going to spoil her.”
Jasper opened the door to the back passenger seat and carried Evelyn inside. “How would I? Daughters are meant to be doted upon. A princess’ wishes should all come true.”
Winona and Jasper really doted on Evelyn.
Surrounded by people who loved her, Evelyn’s mood had improved by leaps and bounds. She was no longer as emotionally vulnerable or timid as she was before.
Evelyn bounded into school when they dropped her off.
Jasper saw her joyful back profile and couldn’t hide the bright smile on his face.
He finally retracted his gaze when Evelyn disappeared behind the door.
“Professor Hale asked you to bring Evelyn to Institute 511. When do you intend to do that?”
Amelia looked warmly at him as she pondered his question.
