Chapter 241
“At the start, it wasn’t stated clearly that the bet-on agreement would be signed with Megatech. If Megatech lost the bet, Nova Nine would take 50% of Megatech’s shares. Conversely, for the sake of fairness, if Nova Nine lost, aside from transferring 50% of its shares to Infotech, it’d also transfer another 50% to Megatech,” Amelia
said.
Nicole and Luke’s eyes widened at Amelia’s suggestion. Even Mr. Johnson’s jaw dropped.
How bold of her!
Who would have the guts to put her entire company at stake?
Amelia was very clear.
If she lost the bet and therefore 50% of the company’s shares, it would be akin to losing the entirety of Nova
Nine.
So, why not use the remaining 50% to gain more benefit in the future?
Since she was going ahead with the bet, she would go all out.
Christopher looked at her and asked, “Are you sure?”
“Do you not dare to take the bet?” Amelia asked back.
She was bold and resolute with her decision and strategy.
Christopher said nothing aside from instructing his lawyer to amend the clauses of the contract.
With the final contract signed, the meeting came to an end.
Mr. Johnson found the turn of events very exciting.
Having worked for the government for so many years, he had never seen a company sign such a risky bet-on
agreement.
He wondered if Amelia was fearless or foolish.
Everyone left the room with varying expressions on their faces, especially Nicole and Luke.
Amelia headed to the washroom.
Nicole caught up with her.
“You’re very bold,” Nicole said as she slowed down her pace and walked next to Amelia. “Did Mr. Langley not remind you of the consequences if you lose? You don’t have anyone to cover your losses.”
“Thank you for the reminder. Just take care of yourself, Ms. Randall,” Amelia said coldly, continuing to walk on.
Nicole flashed Amelia a smile that barely veiled her disdain and mockery.
She really found Amelia a joke.
She really should have thought twice and not signed the bet-on agreement, no matter how confident she was of

her own project and abilities.
But Amelia didn’t know what was good for her, and was instead behaving like a gambler. Nicole was sure that she’d be billions in debt in the future.
How could Jasper condone her behavior?
Would Amelia have the capabilities to push this through? How bold of her!
“I must say… You’re so ignorant, you’re fearless. Don’t come running to us crying when you lose. I hope you’ll be able to keep whatever you’ve earned and not lose everything. This industry isn’t as straightforward as you think it is. Neither is it child’s play.”
Amelia stopped in her tracks and looked coldly at Nicole, a smirk lifting a corner of her lips. “Ms. Randall, please don’t think that others are as incapable as you are.”

Nicole furrowed her brows. “I was just reminding you from the goodness of my heart.”
She chuckled coldly.
“Don’t be so ungrateful. Handling a project well isn’t as easy as winning a man’s heart. You used underhanded means to snatch Chris away. Do you think this will be as easy as how you got Chris to marry you back then?
“He simply pitied you and had compassion on you. He only married you because he cared about a young lady’s reputation. Who knew that you’d end up being a bottomless pit and ungrateful at all?”
“Yeah, you’re the good one,” Amelia said emotionlessly. “Since he loved you so much, why didn’t he brush aside all objections and marry you instead? Could it be that he doesn’t want to?”
She spoke coolly and calmly, every word piercing into Nicole’s heart and turning it into a bloody mess.
The smile on Nicole’s face faded.
Amelia’s brows arched as she added, “I wish you happiness and that you two will get married as soon as possible.”
With that, she turned into a cubicle and shut the door behind her.
Nicole’s face flushed with anger. She stomped her foot out of frustration.
Who did Amelia think she was? What right did Amelia have to outwit her like that?!
She gritted her teeth and turned around, only to run into a man’s deep, dark gaze.
