Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 248

Chapter 248

Amelia reached out to the person-in-charge, Mr. Lewis.

They agreed to meet tonight.

The project was about to be executed, and everything had to be in place.

They had to make a trip to the factory in the afternoon. With production slated to be completed by this month, the new composite materials had to be secured as soon as possible.

After Amelia contacted Mr. Lewis, she turned to Jasper.

“Conduct more checks on environmental control and avionics to see if there are any bugs. We’re at the critical juncture right now.

“After the completion, we need to share the data with the aircraft maintenance and avionics teams during the test flight stage. I don’t want any issues occurring with the system.

“We’ll meet Mr. Lewis after the test.”

It was Amelia’s first time taking on the role of chief engineer in Nova Nine. She had to make sure that everything was under control.

The government was calling a tender for a new-generation passenger aircraft for mass usage. Many passenger aircraft were about to be decommissioned.

After striking up a collaboration with Infotech through the tender, the project was naturally slated for completion.

After the systems and tests are finally in place, they will be widely used in passenger aircrafts. More importantly, it would also lower the cost of manufacturing military-level technology.

They would need to link up with various aircraft carriers and see if the test flight data met their standards.

They had already 3D-printed a part of the model and were preparing to apply for a patent for the entire system.

Both passenger and military aircrafts were important, but military-related work was usually confidential in nature and more highly regarded.

Amelia was taking on both kinds of projects.

Jasper looked at his tablet to type a message in the work group chat, reminding various departments to buckle up and sprint the final mile for the system.

They were now preparing to enter the production phase.

Amelia pursed her lips. “Contact Megatech and ask them how many supplies the materials supplier can provide since they just signed a contract with them.”

“I’ve already done so,” Jasper said with a smirk. “Nicole said that Megatech is launching a new project, and that the materials supplier can only offer enough for them and none for Nova Nine.”

Amelia wasn’t surprised.

Nicole was doing this deliberately so they wouldn’t win the bet-on agreement.

Amelia retrieved all the necessary information from the databank in preparation for her meeting with Mr. Lewis later.

They had agreed to meet at Nightingale’s Mist.

Mr. Lewis was in his fifties and had a head of white hair. People in this line usually either had grey hair or no hair

at all.

He looked surprised to see Amelia. “I seldom see female engineers around. It’s admirable, really.”

Amelia smiled coyly and exchanged pleasantries with him.

Due to limited time, she quickly moved into business proper.

Mr. Lewis’ company was one of the best in this line. Coincidentally, he was in Northon for a business trip.

It took Amelia quite some effort to make an appointment with him, and she only had twenty minutes to spare.

“I got it,” Mr. Lewis said to Jasper and Amelia, “but your demand level is too high, and we can’t supply it.”

Amelia explained, “You don’t need to supply it at one go. We just need one aircraft at this point in time. If you have the spare capacity to supply us with more, we can sign a contract depending on your capacity.”

One aircraft was sufficient for them right now. If the test flight went well, the materials supply would fall into place.

The problem was, the project was still in the air right now, and everyone was still holding a wait-and-see attitude.

Her aircraft model and indoor test flight results weren’t bad.

“If it’s just one aircraft,” Mr. Lewis said after pondering for a moment, “I need to increase my profits by 3%.”

With fewer materials, their earning would naturally decrease.

Jasper looked at Amelia, who agreed readily to it. “Sure, no problem.”

They just needed one aircraft.

More importantly, they had to win the bet.
