Chapter 250
Amelia sat in the car, looking rather emotionless.
Jasper shook his head, chuckling.
He suddenly realized that perhaps he didn’t know her well enough in the past. Perhaps Amelia was scheming by
nature.
Jasper rested an elbow on the window.
“Christopher’s so generous with Nicole, giving her the capital she needs to compete head-on with us. She knew so clearly where we had our meeting. Who was the one who leaked the information to her? They’re trying to make us lose the bet. How much does he hate you?”
Christopher and Nicole were targeting them repeatedly.
Amelia held the steering wheel and focused on the road again.
“Hate?” she chuckled. “What right does he have to hate me?”
Compared to ruining his chances of marrying Nicole and compromising by marrying her instead, he treated her and her daughter coldly, announced to the public that she had given birth to a pair of opposite-sex twins, and made her take care of Nathan by making him her biological son.
He even made her and her daughter pay the price with their lives.
Her sin against him didn’t seem that severe in comparison.
She should be the one hating him.
A loveless marriage often meant that both sides were doomed to suffer.
However, because of the huge disparity in their family backgrounds, she ended up being the only one hurt.
There was no absolute right and wrong in this situation. If she hadn’t remained stubborn amidst his cold treatment of her, the tragedy that happened in her past life wouldn’t have happened.
She had been the one who was holding onto unrealistic dreams.
He clearly didn’t love her, but she continued holding out hope.
Jasper looked deeply at Amelia. Finally, he sighed.
“What a bastard.”
Nicole, having secured a partnership with Mr. Lewis, viewed it as a complete victory.
Upon finding out, Luke called her to congratulate her. “You’ve secured all the partners available. I bet they’re desperate and out of ideas right now.”
Luke sat at his desk, signing some documents.

“Now that you’re doing research and development of new products, signing contracts with these partners will only benefit you. You won’t need to negotiate with them again from here on. It’ll soon be time for performance acceptance, but Amelia hasn’t even secured a materials supplier. Just get ready to acquire Nova Nine.”
Nicole, who was sitting in the car, said, “I really want to see the look on their faces when they go back to Nova Nine.”
They were probably all like cats on a hot tin roof.
Luke analyzed the situation for her.
“No other local materials supplier will be able to save them from their situation right now. There is a company overseas, but it’s certainly unattainable for them.”
He paused for a moment, then gave Nicole a reminder.
“But you should hold back and not go to extremes. Amelia is the one overestimating herself. Jasper might be blinded, but there’s no need to make him our enemy. You should give him a chance, too. Langley Group is one of the best in the industry, and he’s also a key technical personnel in Institute 511. You’re bound to work with him in the future.”
Nicole naturally knew what Luke was getting at.
“I talked to him, but he’s hesitant about it. He might be thinking about how to fire Amelia. When the debt lands on her head, she’d probably come crying to Chris.”
Luke put his pen down and scoffed, “She had it coming.”
Meanwhile, Amelia received a call from Christopher after she was done with work at Nova Nine. He asked her to go back to Whitmore Manor for dinner today.
Dorothy went up the mountains and personally caught some chickens for dinner.
Amelia rubbed her temples. “Tell her that I’m busy at work and can’t come.”
Bound by the terms of their divorce agreement, she had to keep their divorce under wraps.
Christopher nodded before hanging up.
Then, Amelia received a call from Whitmore Manor.
It was from Dorothy.
“Mia, I followed a professional team that hunts wild chickens. You used to love chicken, and I know you haven’t
had any in a while. I had the servants stew the chicken. Will you come back tonight?”
