Reborn Without You (Amelia and Christopher) novel Chapter 252

Chapter 252

Amelia didn’t think he would be so kindhearted.

She turned to leave without a word.

After Christopher was done trimming the tree, he headed back into the house as well.

Amelia sat on the couch, chatting with Dorothy. Dorothy was holding Amelia’s hand, asking her how she had been.

Both ladies were delighted to see each other after a long time.

Stephanie sat next to them, scoffing as she scrolled through her phone. “Grandma, others might mistake her as your biological granddaughter instead.”

Dorothy glanced at Stephanie and remarked, “But Mia is my granddaughter!”

Once again, Stephanie scoffed. “Aren’t you afraid of tongues wagging? If Amelia’s your granddaughter, what does that make Chris?”

Just then, Christopher walked in and put his shears down. ”m her grandson-in-law.”

The smile on Dorothy’s face grew wider.

She teased Christopher, “You really know your place!”

Amelia gave Dorothy a small smile. She didn’t take this joke seriously, nor did she take Christopher’s words seriously.

He was always capable of saying anything to make Dorothy happy.

Stephanie opened her mouth, but swallowed the words at the tip of her tongue. She eventually said with a smirk, ” Just go ahead and indulge her.”

Continue putting up an act!

Stephanie wanted to see how long this act between this phony married couple would last.

Nathan bounded down the stairs and called out enthusiastically to Amelia. “Mom!”

Amelia smiled but said nothing.

Christopher looked deeply at Amelia. A while later, he retracted his gaze.

Nathan didn’t seem fazed by Amelia’s lack of response and went off to play with his toys.

They raised Nathan “well”, and he was still calling her “Mom” in front of everyone in the family, despite calling Nicole “Mom” in private.

They were keeping up the act very well.

During the meal, Amelia sat next to Christopher. Dorothy always had a penchant for trying to make the two of them closer.

The sky was dark, and the lighting in the courtyard was dim She looked exceptionally frail and vulnerable in the dark.

Christopher looked at her and said, “Grandma wants you to have this. I’ll put it in your boot.”

Amelia didn’t reject it, since it was from Dorothy. She took the chicken from Christopher and placed it in her boot.

She closed her boot and turned back, only to find Christopher still standing there.

She said icily, “Is there anything else?”

Christopher stuck a hand in his pocket and looked coldly at her. “Sometimes, losing a deal may not be a bad thing.”

His tone sounded exceptionally chilly in the night.

Amelia chuckled.

Was he trying to comfort her, or was he mocking her?

Of course, it wasn’t a bad thing for him. They were partners no matter who the deal went to, he would earn the profit regardless.

Amelia held her car key in her hand and smirked.

“Thank you, but this has nothing to do with you, Mr. Zephy.”
