Chapter 255
“Are you still worried that you haven’t secured a raw materials supplier yet?” Nicole asked.
She was still trying to get Jasper on her side.
Right in front of Amelia, she said, “Have you thought through what I asked you to consider the last time?”
Everyone there knew what Nicole was asking.
She was openly sowing discord.
Everyone present was a businessperson to some degree, not just a pure scientist or researcher.
Jasper served as a researcher at Institute 511 while running a company, clearly with the aim of earning more money. The company’s survival had to be a key consideration for him.
He should know what the right decision was.
“Consider what?” Jasper said darkly.
Nicole paused for a moment.
She didn’t expect Jasper to feign ignorance in front of so many people.
However, that wasn’t enough to deter her.
“Mr. Langley, since we’re officially partners, we can help you if you really can’t find a raw materials supplier. But you’ll have to share the profits with us.”
Jasper smirked. “Thank you for your kindness, Ms. Randall, but we don’t need it.”
Nicole’s eyes narrowed, her gaze landing on Amelia’s face.
She couldn’t deny that Amelia had a charm that helped bewitch Jasper.
“Ms. Sinclair, please don’t drag a good person down for your own selfish benefit. It’s best that you withdraw from
a social circle you don’t belong in. I really hope you don’t end up with a debt you can’t bear. Your daughter still needs the money to go to school.”
Nicole was making herself very clear.
“On account of our relationship, I can pretend that we neve signed the bet-on agreement. I respect Mr. Langley as a talent in this field and really can’t bear to see him dragged down like this.”
Nicole was trying her best to convince Amelia to back down and win Jasper over.
She was clearly an expert at sowing discord.
She had snatched away so many of their potential partners and sent their team into complete disarray. She was sure that they were running around like headless chickens, finding other partners.
In fact, they were probably here today to close a deal with another partner.
Jasper would surely feel grateful if she were to extend an olive branch their way at a time like this.
Amelia only found Nicole’s words laughable.
“Let me remind you, Ms. Randall. Do be careful when you snatch away something that doesn’t belong to you,” she
said.
With that, she turned and left with Jasper by her side.

Nicole’s face fell. “What did she mean by that?”
Luke scoffed.
“What else could she mean? She’s just mad that she’s humiliated. She’s so stubborn, she’s still refusing to yield even at this point. Does she really think she’s important like you? Let’s just eat.”
Then, he asked, “Chris? What are you looking at?”
Christopher retracted his gaze lazily and said, “Let’s go.”
Luke followed his line of sight and saw nothing else aside from Amelia and Jasper in their private room. He didn’t say anything further and went for lunch.
He wondered which material supplier Nova Nine was going to meet today.
Megatech had already secured the best material suppliers across the entire country. Other companies hardly worked with new partners.
Amelia and Jasper waved goodbye to their new partner after enjoying their meal.
“Thank you for your help, we’re extremely grateful for it.”
The partner said kindly, “Don’t mention it. I have high hopes for this project, too. It’s great seeing such drive in you youngsters. I hope we’ll have future opportunities to work together.”
He was a busy man. After exchanging some final pleasantries, he hopped into his car and left.
Luke’s eyes narrowed when he saw them as he walked out of the restaurant.
He could recognize the car that sped off right after Amelia bade her new partner goodbye.
His jaw dropped in shock.
