Chapter 263
To Nicole, Amelia was getting in her way and messing up her career.
That was all she had to say to her.
Good advice is wasted on those determined to die.
Amelia wasn’t bothered by Nicole’s words. She held the steering wheel tight and said flatly, “Good that you know yourself well.”
Nicole glared at Amelia, suddenly at a loss for words. No matter what she said, it would only make her seem flustered and agitated.
She eventually snorted and said, “You’re pretty good at twisting the truth.”
Amelia saw a bend around the corner and tapped on the brakes lightly.
When she found that the car didn’t decelerate, she turned the steering wheel all the way, and the car shook violently.
Nicole jumped in fright. “What are you doing?”
Amelia’s brows were tightly furrowed as she released the accelerator. When she tried to apply the brakes once more, she found that it still wasn’t working.
They were in the suburbs, covered in hilly and sloped terrain.
Amelia immediately shifted to a lower gear and did everything she could to try to stop the car in the case of a brake malfunction, but the car remained at the same speed and showed no signs of stopping.
As a professional racer, Nicole immediately realized what was going on.
“Are the brakes not working?”
Her heart fell with a thud. She knew how dangerous it was when the brakes of a car suddenly stopped working.
“Why didn’t you send your car for maintenance?” Nicole grabbed the handlebars at the side and started instructing Amelia on what to do.
Amelia barked, “Shut up!”
Nicole took a deep breath as she felt the car quickly going out of control. Her heart was racing so fast, it felt like it was going to jump out of her chest.
She looked at her phone and called Christopher. She quickly explained to him their current situation.
“You should be calling the traffic police right now and informing them of our location so they can clear the way and reduce casualties or death, instead of calling your man and crying to him,” Amelia said.
They were in a factory zone surrounded by cliffs, and there were hardly any cars around.
Amelia thought of going close to the cliff walls to reduce the speed of the car.
However, the car was bound to bounce out upon impact, and they might just fall off the cliff.
But this was the road situation for the next hour or so.
Amelia’s palms started sweating.
She had just sent her car for maintenance this month. The brake shouldn’t be malfunctioning.

Everything was working fine when she drove to the factory zone.
The road was going down the slope so fast, it was difficult to get a good grip of the steering wheel. The curve around the bend was huge, and she was worried the car might spiral out of control at one of the bends and flip
over.
Nicole’s heart was in her throat, knowing the danger they were in.
Amelia steered the car as calmly as she could.
Nicole saw how Amelia kept the car under control as much as she could, and suddenly realized that Amelia’s driving skills seemed top-notch.
However, she didn’t have the capacity to ponder what that meant, given the dire urgency of their situation.
After some time, Nicole’s phone rang
It was Christopher.
“Chris…”
“Put me on loudspeaker,” he said succinctly.
Nicole did as she was told. “You’re on.”.
“Amelia, look into your rearview mirror.”
The two women unanimously looked into the rearview mirror and saw a Maybach following right behind them.
Amelia’s heart skipped a beat.
What was he trying to do?
Before she could say anything, Christopher’s voice sounded coolly through the loudspeaker. “Go closer to the cliff wall. I’ll drive next to you.”
Amelia had a sense of what he was trying to do.
Nicole immediately yelled, “Chris, are you out of your mind?!”
