Chapter 268
Amelia finally had nothing to do with Christopher.
The entire process took less than ten minutes. Ironically, their marriage seemed to last torturously long and forced her to pay a hefty price.
Thankfully, the failed marriage finally drew to a close.
Christopher saw the rare smile on Amelia’s face and retracted his gaze.
When they walked out of the clerk’s office, Amelia noticed that Christopher’s car was still parked there.
Christopher paused in his stride and turned to ask Amelia, Need a lift?”
“No, thanks,” Amelia said emotionlessly.
She didn’t want to sit in her ex-husband’s car.
Christopher was never one to force another to do something he or she didn’t want to do. He simply nodded with a smile and headed straight to his car.
Nigel opened the car door for him.
The moment the door was opened, Amelia seemed to catch sight of a woman seated inside. She knew who it was without taking a second look.
Christopher had brought Nicole to the clerk’s office, where he had just finalized his divorce.
Amelia wondered if they would have seized the chance to get married on the day itself, if it weren’t for the fact that it was the same day Christopher divorced her.
Amelia hailed a cab and left.
She looked at the divorce certificate in her hand as she sat in the back seat. It was so light, yet felt so heavy in her
hands.
She exhaled out loud and laughed heartily. The wind blowing from outside through the windows made her feel renewed and refreshed.
The air in Northon couldn’t feel fresher than this.
She was on the brink of ushering in her new life along with the breeze of the summer wind.
She arrived at Nova Nine with a spring in her step.
Jasper and Winona were already waiting for her in the office
When they saw the bright smile on her face, they congratulated Amelia from the bottom of their hearts.
“Congratulations, you’re finally free of that nightmare! You can welcome your new life with open arms. The future will be bright for sure!”
There was a cake on the table, wishing her a happy divorce
Winona approached Amelia and gave her a huge hug. Patting Amelia on the back, she said, “Let the past remain in the past. We’ll be with you all the way from now on.”
“Congrats,” Jasper said to Amelia with a smile.
He was congratulating her for being single once more and for leaving that nightmare of a marriage.

Chapter 268
+25 Bonus
A torturous marriage was capable of robbing an outstanding lady of all her glory and glamor.
He saw with his own eyes how Amelia degenerated from a brilliant and lively young lady into a cold and hard
woman.
Now, he could finally see this cold and hard woman melting, giving way to that dazzling young lady inside her.
Hope filled the air as they embraced new beginnings.
After enjoying the cake, Amelia asked, “When will the results of the investigation into the car be out?”
“It’ll take some time. They need to do a thorough check of the entire car,” Jasper said. He looked at Amelia and asked, “Do you think someone tampered with the car?”
Amelia lowered her head. “Can’t say for sure.”
She had her suspicions, especially since she had just sent her car for maintenance.
Of course, she couldn’t eliminate the possibility that the service crew overlooked a problem with the brake.
Their project was about to be completed.
They already had in mind who would potentially benefit from harming her. If their suspicions were true, it would be a case of attempted murder.
However, there was no conclusion just yet. Amelia couldn’t quite say whether it was just an accident or a plot against her.
“If someone really did it on purpose, I’ll make sure he goes to jail and rots in there!” Winona exclaimed.
Northon was a society governed by the law. She couldn’t believe someone would do something so unconscionable.
Jasper looked at her and said, “Watch your words before the results are out.”
They knew better than everyone else how verbal attacks often did more harm than good.
Before a decisive conclusion arrived, none of them should say anything with certainty.
