Chapter 272
Amelia looked up and saw Christopher seated on the couch.
Nathan was seated on his lap, leaning into his embrace as he played games on his tablet.
Christopher looked at the tablet screen in Nathan’s hands and reminded him gently, “Someone’s coming from the side.”
The moment he said that, Nathan got shot by someone from the side.
“Ah!” Nathan put down his tablet and complained, “Dad! Why didn’t you warn me about it earlier?”
Christopher chuckled as he raised a hand and rubbed Nathan’s head affectionately. “You’re still a noob at this. Practice more.”
Nathan whined, “Dad, help me with the game. I’m almost going to advance to the next stage.”
Christopher said dotingly, “I’ll help you with it later. Let’s have some food first.”
They were the perfect picture of a happy family.
Amelia, on the other hand, didn’t belong here.
Christopher only doted on and gave in to Nathan.
The two of them treated Amelia as invisible, and didn’t even acknowledge her presence.
Amelia wasn’t intending to stay here for supper. It would only disgust her.
She didn’t respond to Anna’s question and went straight downstairs; she walked right past Christopher and Nathan, ignoring them.
Christopher looked up and saw Amelia walking out of the house. He then glanced at Nathan and said, “Say bye to your mom.”
Nathan pouted. He wasn’t going to call this stepmom of his mom.
However, Christoper didn’t give him a choice, so he opened his mouth to address Amelia.
Amelia stopped him before he could say anything. “Don’t. Please don’t disgust me.”
She walked right out of the house.
Nathan bit his lip. “What did she mean by that?”
Christopher carried Nathan in his arms and made Nathan face him. He surveyed Nathan’s face closely. “Did you make Mom angry?”
“I did not!” Nathan pouted. “I did nothing of that sort!”
He simply looked at her in disdain, that’s all.
What’s more, he hardly spent time with her. How would he be able to anger her?
Meanwhile, Amelia bumped into Nicole, who was walking to the house.
She was holding bags of what looked like groceries. She probably returned with Christopher, but went out to grab the groceries from the car.
Nicole’s eyes narrowed at Amelia, who had walked out of the house.

This woman was more shameless than she imagined! She was already divorced, yet here she was. Was it even appropriate for her?
Amelia looked coldly at Nicole before looking away.
Nicole said disdainfully, “Ms. Sinclair, you and Chris are already divorced. If you keep appearing here, others might think you’re regretting getting a divorce.
“Don’t you know that men and women should keep a distance from each other? This isn’t a place you should be visiting. Please don’t disturb our private lives. Don’t let others think that you have no shame whatsoever.”
Nicole was assuming the position of the mistress of this house and was very hostile toward Amelia’s appearance here.
The sight of how familiar Nicole was with everything in the house told Amelia that Nicole probably lived here with Christopher and Nathan after she moved out.
“Do you really think everyone is as shameless as you are? Tell Christopher not to beg me to come here, and I’ll be eternally grateful to you,” Amelia said with a smirk.
With that, she walked away, not giving Nicole any chance to talk back.
Nicole looked at Amelia’s retreating back, her face darkening. She chuckled coldly.
How could this woman be so confident without any rhyme or reason? How could Chris beg her to come here?
She was probably going crazy from desperately wanting to reconcile with Chris!
Amelia left the house.
Having closely monitored the production process in its early stages, she now felt relieved enough to hand it over to expert engineers.
