Amelia’s tone was cold, and she hung up as soon as she finished speaking.

Nathan had caused the trouble, and it was Christopher and Nicole’s responsibility to deal with it. Amelia had no intention of getting involved, not even a little.

Amelia drove straight to the kindergarten. By the time she arrived, several parents were already there.

Evelyn stood opposite Nathan. “Nate, if you keep being this naughty, there’s no hope for you!”

Nathan held the remote for his toy plane, his expression completely unconcerned. “They just kept getting in the way of my bullets! If you don’t want to play with my toys, don’t get so close!”

Lately, Nathan had become downright domineering at kindergarten, showing off in everything he did and slacking off on his schoolwork.

He looked at Evelyn and sneered. “What’s the matter? Want to feel what my bullets can do?”

Nicole told him that at kindergarten, no one could ever bully him. Whatever he did, she would always have his back. She was very much unlike Amelia, who always made him apologize and correct himself whenever something happened.

The one who truly loved him wouldn’t restrict his interests or hobbies. Nicole was the one who truly spoiled him!

When Christine saw Amelia arrive, relief washed over her. “Mrs. Zephyr, you’re finally here!”

“Are you Nathan’s mother?” a parent asked, face dark with anger, every inch radiating fury. “Your son hurt my child! How are you going to make this right?”

Amelia looked at the parent calmly. “I’m sorry, but I’m not his mother.”

“You’re not? As a parent, this isn’t the time to shirk responsibility. Everyone knows Evelyn and Nathan are your twins.”

Amelia’s eyes immediately went to Evelyn, and she saw small streaks of red on her daughter’s hand. Her heart tightened. In a few quick steps, she crouched and took Evelyn’s tiny hand in hers.

“What happened?”

“Nate tried to hit me with the plane. I knocked it down, but he flew it up again to bother me. That’s when Ms. Smith came.”

A heavy weight settled in Amelia’s chest. She drew a deep, steadying breath.

Ever since Nathan was little, Amelia had known his nature was difficult. In her past life, she had poured all her energy into teaching him, restraining him, and trying to keep him in line.

Now, unchecked and increasingly reckless, he had no sense of boundaries.

Amelia stood up and looked at Nathan coldly. “Come here, put down your toy, and apologize to everyone.”

She radiated an icy presence, her gaze heavy with authority. Deep down, Nathan feared her. Yet at this moment, stubbornness still gripped him. He gripped the toy tightly and refused to let go, standing his ground like a little

rebel.

“Mrs. Zephyr, is this the way you raise your children? If you don’t give us all an explanation today, your son and daughter can leave this kindergarten immediately!”

Nathan froze in place.

All around him, parents were scolding, and the younger kids were crying. And now, Amelia had come over to scold him too.

He realized he might be in serious trouble.

But Nicole had always told him he was born free and untamed, that he could do anything he wanted.

At that very moment, a Maybach pulled up at the entrance. Christopher and Nicole stepped out together.

The toy plane still buzzed through the air above them.

Christopher hurried toward the scene, his expression dark as he took in the situation.

Nathan’s eyes widened. Both Christopher and Nicole were here, and neither looked happy.

He bit his lip, a creeping unease gnawing at him. His small hands clutched the controller tighter and tighter.

In his nervousness, he accidentally pressed the launch button.

The toy plane’s projectile shot sharply toward Amelia and Evelyn.
