Josephine already held a grudge against Amelia, and now seemed determined to make her pay for it.
“If you have things to deal with at home, take care of them first. Don’t come here to embarrass yourself and hold everyone back.”
At that moment, Selena Warren stepped forward. “Enough. Let’s just focus and get to the meeting room.”
Once someone had officially joined the company, no amount of cold-shouldering could change the fact that they were part of the team.
Josephine snorted and headed for the conference room.
Selena lingered, looking at Amelia with a hint of sympathy. “Josephine is like that. She’s talented but proud, and she thinks you got in through connections. Just focus on showing your own abilities. Once you prove yourself, she’ll respect you.’
Amelia gave a small, appreciative smile. “Thanks, I understand.”
Seeing her composed and humble, Selena decided Amelia wasn’t acting like some outsider parachuted in through connections.
She added a few more words of advice. “If you can’t handle it, just stay quiet and avoid crossing Josephine’s path. She has a reputation for making things difficult for people.”
When Amelia entered the conference room, each seat had a folder waiting.
Jasper stepped in, carrying his laptop. “I’ve sent everyone a file. It covers calculations for orbital trajectories. We can work together to tackle it efficiently.”
Running orbital gravity calculations was complex, and they required intricate programs.
Amelia opened the file and began reviewing it. She had expected that after being away from work for so long, she would feel rusty.
But the moment she opened the files, ideas started flooding her mind.
Everyone else was busy poring over documents, analyzing, and exchanging insights. No one paid her any attention, and no one invited her to collaborate.
They all assumed she was just a bachelor’s degree holder, incapable of contributing anything meaningful. Talking with her would only waste time and slow down progress.
Josephine glanced at Amelia, who was hunched over her notebook, scribbling calculations,
She looked the part, at least. But could she actually compute anything useful?
Twenty minutes later, Amelia straightened and said, “I’ve got it.”
Her words drew every eye in the room.
Some of the orbital calculations were incredibly precise, and some of the data didn’t even have a clear structure yet.
Yet, Amelia claimed to have figured it out in twenty minutes. Who would believe that?
Josephine scoffed. “What are you pretending for?”

Jasper cast her a calm, steady look. “If you think you can do it, step up and explain it.”
Josephine’s face darkened, but she stayed silent. There was no way she could have calculated it herself. The calculations had hit a wall in so many places that progress seemed impossible.
Jasper looked at Amelia. “Come up here and share your thoughts.”
Amelia stepped forward. “I’m borrowing your laptop for a bit.”
She opened the big screen and started running her simulations.
“This design is fundamentally flawed,” Amelia said, her voice calm and measured. “No matter how you calculate it, it won’t work.”
Josephine scoffed. “You just can’t figure it out, so you’re spouting nonsense. Just because you can’t calculate it doesn’t mean no one else can.”
The basic theory of the design was Jasper’s responsibility, and he guided the project’s overall direction. How could it possibly be wrong?
Amelia ignored Josephine’s taunts and condescending tone. She simply continued. Not only did she identify the errors in the initial design, but she also corrected them and laid out the calculations from scratch.
She even offered new ideas that no one had ever considered before.
The expressions around the room shifted from scornful and dismissive to stunned and speechless.
Josephine was the most shaken of all, caught off guard by Amelia’s precision and her ability to coordinate an entire design project.
Now, she no longer doubted that the mastermind behind the Eos X7 was Amelia herself, not some title Jasper had made up for her.
