Chapter 96
“Really?” Nicole smiled. “Next time, we’ll be sure to support your business, Mr. Hill.”
Andrew quickly helped them get seated, and Nicole slid right next to Christopher.
Gregory finally looked over at Claire. “Please have a seat, Ms. Lane. And this is?”
His gaze shifted to Amelia.
Amelia offered a slight smile. “Hello, Mr. Hill. I’m Amelia Sinclair, Ms. Lane’s assistant.”
Gregory paused for a moment, studying her a little longer.
Claire had clearly meant to make the introduction, but Amelia had stepped in before she could, and Gregory couldn’t help but take notice. When it came to business, there was no room for nepotism. Regardless of her skill level, her professional, composed demeanor spoke volumes.
Once everyone was seated, Nicole suggested they openly discuss the planning proposal together. Amelia nodded in
agreement.
Tania sneered, convinced that Amelia and Claire were completely out of their depth.
Claire’s company was little more than a shell now. Most employees had left, and the planning department barely had any staff left. She couldn’t imagine they had any impressive proposal to offer. Their company wasn’t even on the same level as hers.
She wanted Christopher to see exactly how incompetent Amelia and Claire really were. What could two amateur women possibly produce? Marrying someone like Amelia and bringing her into the Zephyr family had been a mistake.
During the discussion of the project, Christopher remained silent.
Tania finished presenting her plan and the future direction, and Gregory seemed satisfied.
Then, it was Amelia’s turn.
She stood, pulled her laptop from her bag, and displayed a 3D model for Gregory to examine.
The future direction of the projects was now clearer and more defined, and the proposals themselves were far more rigorous. Most importantly, while each plan had its merits, Amelia’s stood out. She had added animated explanations, bringing the ideas to life. She painted a vivid picture of the company’s potential growth directly to Gregory.
In other words, she was selling a vision.
Amelia spoke with energy and precision. “If this plan is implemented, annual net revenue could reach one billion dollars.”
Gregory raised an eyebrow.
Nicole smiled, chiming in with a casual critique, “This plan is impressive, but isn’t it a little ambitious?”
Christopher sipped his tea calmly, giving the impression that the proposals didn’t matter to him at all.
In reality, Gregory already had a clear sense of both plans. He looked over at Christopher, seeking his opinion.
“Mr. Zephyr, I’m still a bit torn. With your business insight, which plan do you think has more long-term

potential?”
Christopher raised his cup and took a deliberate sip as he smiled faintly, “I wouldn’t presume to interfere with your investment decisions, Mr. Hill.”
His tone revealed nothing.
However, Gregory pressed further. “Then if it were you, which plan would you choose?”
It seemed he was determined to get an answer.
Amelia’s fingers curled tightly around the papers, her body suddenly feeling weak.
Perhaps it was the late night catching up with her, leaving her drained, or the harsh sun today. She was starting to feel faint and a little lightheaded from heat exhaustion. Her mind raced, but deep down, she already knew which proposal was stronger.
But if Christopher sided with Nicole, Gregory would naturally favor him, and their proposal might still succeed, but they’d end up earning less.
Christopher set down his teacup and smiled calmly. “You already know the answer. Why ask me?”
“Ms. Lane, Ms. Sinclair,” Gregory said, his gaze cool and measured as it swept over them. “We have our own considerations. Your proposal is innovative, but far too risky. I’m afraid we can’t accept it.”
Gregory spoke slowly and deliberately, and Amelia felt her chest sink as she listened. Her hand tightened around the proposal, her knuckles turning white.
She already understood. Gregory had never intended to choose them. Nicole had confidently insisted on a fair competition, but the outcome had clearly been predetermined.
Amelia now realized the truth. Christopher had allowed them to enter only to humiliate her in front of

everyone.
Then, she said, “Thank you for your time, Mr. Hill. I look forward to another opportunity to work together.”
